It was pretty well known that there was a gap that reached from heaven- straight through the mortal realm- straight to hell and no matter how hard He and his council tried to close the gap, it would always remain.
You knew that as well. You were fascinated by its mystery and darkness, its unknown, endless possibilities. The thought that there was another 2 worlds below you- one you lived in for many years- the other, filled with the unexplainable and unexplored land of the evil dead.
As a duchess, you didn't know much about hell itself- you'd only ever really heard stories about the violent, murderous creatures that lived there, the unfathomable, blazing heat and the darkness that crept into the unfortunate souls who lived there.
That was all you ever really knew about demons. They were 'filthy vermin who plague the world' (as your father and husband described them) and they 'deserve the damnation they got'.
But you truly believed that some-demon, somewhere was good.
"There is light in darkness," you said every time they said something negative about the residents of hell, "And there is darkness in light..."
