So when and where do you think everything ended?
How and why do we live with the pain that descended
Into our midst? There comes the familiar scene of old
It's the same picture, love, down to the wind and the cold
There goes the fire, the chimney is ever so clean
The walls are here; where have we all been?
Changes of the present, there can never be two
Of lives lived and love fully given and enacted due
Tell me, where is the home we promised to each other?
Where were the times spent and the pieces we gathered?
When do you think all the paint started to bleed?
It's the same fears, love; perhaps, even the same deed

Jumping carelessly into a pile of our resolve
Feelings rushed and our thoughts didn't evolve
From the same, primal instinct to never be alone
In a sea of crowded faces, found love, broken bones
We are in a hurry to feel the sand beneath our feet
To taste the skies, the mountains, to dance to the beat
Somehow, through all that, we marched, forgot to look back
To where we came from, to what we didn't think we lack
And there we were at the limelight we never wanted to be
Where all the sins of the past laid bare for all to see
We start to run, to pretend that life is cool and easy
It's the same fears, love; it's the same burden to carry

When and where do you think it all began?
How and why did we fest on the mistake we have done?
Down our gullets came the bitter taste of love
Had we swallowed it whole, water won't be enough
To wash out the stains of lives without meaning
When we pretend we saw everything from the beginning
What did you see aside from the race we kept on running?
Have you seen us win? Did we perhaps find something
To appease the growing hunger existence has left
In our veins, ever-growing and ever bereft?
Fill me in with the lies I'll keep on believing
It's the same words, love; maybe it was all for nothing

Skipping stones and watching each one fall to the depths
Which has been the most fulfilling of all the thefts?
Have you stitched your broken heart and smiled
Or did you forget the reason why you're out in the wild?
Believe me, I have your best interest in saying this
We have been spending time sitting in our ignorance
It's time to move on, to become a new flower in bloom
So forgive me for leaving, for spelling your doom
There have been things I'd treasure and some I'd throw
I'll lick my scars and hope one day you'd know
All the pain inflicted by the tongue you failed to leash
It's the same wounds, love; it's all the things I won't miss

Skipping stones and watching each one fall to the depthsWhich has been the most fulfilling of all the thefts?Have you stitched your broken heart and smiledOr did you forget the reason why you're out in the wild?Believe me, I have your best interes...
