Chapter 4: Mavericks girlfriend

During the meeting, Maverick and Charlotte kept making eye contact while she spoke, me and Goose looked at eachother about to laugh
"Alissa! Phoenix! I think Mavy has a girlfriend" Goose said just loud enough for Maverick to hear,
"Goose!" Maverick mumbled. Me and Goose burst out laughing, everyone started looking at us
"Sorry! I couldn't hold it in" Goose said wiping the tears from his eyes,
"Yeah it was like a tiger emerging from its cage-" I laughed,
"No need for similes Lieutenant" Charlotte said laughing.

That night at the bar Maverick didn't talk to us,
"Come on Mav we were joking, we love you really" I hugged him. Goose made a jealous facial expression,
"Goose, you hug Mav but I don't say you love him!" We all laughed. I kissed goose and he said
"Maverick why don't you go and talk to Charlie? We can set you up!"
"Yeah we will" I said.

I walked over to Charlie and looked back at Maverick and Goose, goose winked at me and Maverick covered his eyes,
"Hey! Charlie" I said smirking
"Oh no" she replied
"Ok thats just rude I haven't started yet" I said smiling "anyway, why don't you talk to Maverick he really likes you!" I winked back at Goose.
"Fine!" Charlotte walked over to Maverick looking excited,
"Let's leave them hun" I said
"Maybe we could get some alone time" goose said laughing.

We sat down on the bar seats and talked. Suddenly, the song 'fireball' came on
"Alissa! Alissa! We have to sing!" He said grabbing my arm.
We sang on the keyboard and genuinely embarrassed ourselves, but it was with Goose so I loved every bit.

That night I sat on my bed reading, I saw Goose walking in looking tired
"Goose? Why are you up now? Come here!" I put down my book down and opened my arms, he sat down next to me and leaned his head on my shoulder. I stroked his head and kissed his forehead,
"I just feel like I caused his death" Goose said looking up at me, I knew what he was talking about. A few months earlier Goose's dad had passed, it was from a stroke and Goose claimed he had called the ambulance too slowly,
"Nick you did not cause that, it was the wrong time and place." I said
"I believe you hun" he then fell asleep on my arm.
