Stephen Strange x Reader

You and Stephen work together. You have a major crush on Stephen but you'll never tell him that. You think Stephen only sees you as a friend and only a friend. You don't want to ruin y'all's friendship, so you say nothing. You just accept that you'll always be his best friend.

You get to work and you immediately find out there's a new hire. You see the new surgeon and she's beautiful. You decide to introduce yourself and be friendly.

You walk up to her and raise your hand at her. " Hi I'm (y/n) (y/l/n) ".

She smiles and shakes your hand. "Christine Palmer".

"It's always nice to meet a new surgeon", you said smiling back.

"Are you a surgeon too?", Christine asked you.

"Yes I am", you answer.

"So I can assume we will work together", she said.

"I guess so", you reply back still smiling. "Would you like me to show you around Christine?", you ask.

"Oh no, Bruce already showed me where everything is but maybe if I forget where something is, I can ask you".

"Most definitely. I don't mind helping", you said.

"Thank (y/n)".

"Don't mention it".

You tell her that you have to get going and you leave. You go to your shared office with Stephen. He's not there, you guess he'll be here soon. You put your stuff away. You leave the office and head off to the break room. And you put your lunch away in the fridge. You exit the break room and you see Stephen talking to Christine. You can see they are laughing but you have no idea what they are saying. But they seem to know each other. You decide maybe you'll ask Stephen about her.

You go back to your office, and Stephen shows up shortly afterward.

You look at him and ask", I see you meet Christine".

"Oh yeah. Me and her go way back. We met in college and then she moved to another state. I haven't seen her in 6 years".

"6 years! That's a long time. Well, I'm glad you two reunited", you smile.

"Me too. I think I'll ask her if she wants to get a drink after work."

"Just letting you know, but she'll say yes".

Stephen smiled back at you.

You were called to do surgeries, Stephen wasn't on your team this time but you were glad to have other people at least.

You were done with the surgery and you cleaned up and went to the break room. You eat your food alone. Stephen came up to you and sat across from you.

"Hey, Stephen".

"Hey (y/n). I um... I wanna talk to you about something".

"Okay what is it?", You ask, hoping it's nothing bad.

"Um... I'm changing offices. I'm going to share an office with Christine instead".

This news breaks your heart so much and you feel sick. "Oh...", is all you say.

"(y/n), Will you be okay?".

"What? Of course, I'm fine. You do what you need to do. It doesn't bother me a bit", you flat out lie.

"Okay, that's good to know".

You give him a nod. "Well, you better get going and get packing".

"Your right, I'll see you later (y/n)".
