" I can't wait to go out of town! First road trip with Sky! She is such a great puppy!" I squealed.

" It's only for a couple days and you know I still have that project to work on for work as well." stated Bram my husband.

"Work. Work. Work. Blah Blah Blah." I teased.

Bram just rolled his eyes at me. By now, I was use to his career. It demanded a lot. I always begged him to work elsewhere and that with the loss of income I could care less about. Before I met Bram, I made far less and was just as happy. For me my time was my time. I preffered that my career stayed only in the work place and when I left it stayed there. To each their own though.

As I looked at the clock, I realized it was already almost 1:00 P.M. and I still hadn't got a bite to eat. I was so focused on cleaning and packing time flew by. Sky had been asleep. Tomorrow we were going on a long weekend to a town we had not been to yet. It was called Skyton. It was outside of Rolling Beck where we loved to go. Normally we stayed in Rolling Beck, however there was a cute cottage with a fenced in backyard for Sky, so Skyton it was.

"Honey, I'm home!" Bram called.

"I didn't prepare the roast, since you said you wanted to grab a bite to eat." I explained.

"No worries, babe. Lets roll out and grab a bite to eat at that new restaurant up the street." Bram suggested.

So here we were. Once again Bram had another work issue and was on the phone again. The waitress looked annoyed and I couldn't really blame her. My husband was another customer who couldn't put the phone down to order. I always felt this was rude when going out to eat, however it came with the career he loved. Like, I said To Each Their Own.

" He will have a unsweet tea no lemon. Plain cheeseburger medium well and fries for the side. I'll have the grilled salmon with green beans and loaded baked potato for my sides. I'll have a glass of merlot. Better yet make it a bottle. I'm sorry about my husband. Duty calls." I smiled as I ordered.

The waitress Jenny and I chatted and she understood why Bram had the cell glued to his ear. Brahm had left the table, realizing he needed his computer in the Santa Fe to fix the work issue. He was finally coming in, when the food came up.

"I didn't want a burger. I wanted the steak. You ordered the bottle. Really?" He grumbled.

"You were super busy, the waitress was getting annoyed as always. I had no idea how long the issue was going to take, so I ordered. Well, since Merlot was my date thought I'd have the bottle & it only came in 1/2 the bottle." I explained.

" Not funny, you know my job and now you'll be asleep because of the wine." He stressed.

"I never know how long you'll be. I'm enjoying a much needed break from work. Sorry you couldn't get off today and I know your upset about something with work, however lets not start our weekend like this." I expressed.

I was glad to finally be home. After letting Sky out and putting her to bed for the night, I realized I was not tired. So I poured myself another glass of Merlot and started myself a bubble bath and grabbed the book I was reading. Might as well make it a great night.
