Monday December 21st

Hermione paced the floor of the repaired Room of Requirements. It looked nothing like it did a mere seven months ago. The only sign that was left, that indicated that the room was once engulfed in fiery red Fiendfyre, was the smell of ash in the stuffy air. The room was empty and the only thing that was within its walls was a single black reading chair, a coffee table with a book atop it, and a table lamp; all placed upon a small rug. Besides that there were no other decorations in the room.

Hermione walked back and forth, back and forth. She had forgotten how long she had been doing that, just pacing. But it was easing her thoughts and stabilizing her twisted emotions. She glanced outside but remembered there was no window in the room.

With a tortured sigh she finally stopped her pacing and sat down on the reading chair. She sat back and closed her eyes. She didn't ever want to go back outside. She didn't want to see him, face him, she was just too confused. She felt out of control and out of touch with her emotions.

After they had kissed nothing but awkwardness had swelled between them. It was enough to send Hermione running back towards Harry and Theo who had no clue why she was so out of breath and flushed. She had lied and told them that Draco decided to go back home. What she was unable to explain was why she was wearing Draco's winter wear. She too apologized and quickly left, making up a lame excuse about forgetting to do an assignment.

Once she had used the floo to get back to Hogwarts she walked aimlessly around the castle floors. Her mind was racing, her heart was pounding, and her fingers brushed her lips as if she could remember the warmth of Draco's lips. She wanted to cry, scream, anything. She just wished for a place to be alone, where she wouldn't have to see Draco or anyone else for the matter. She was disappointed in herself and in her actions. Didn't she just tell herself that her and Draco couldn't be anything more then friends, if you could call it that. She was supposed to be strong and here she was becoming putty in his hands, and falling for his cunning lies. She wanted to slap herself silly.

A strong aroma filled her nostrils and she inhaled deeply. It smelt of him, of Draco, and she couldn't stop herself but wish that she was back in that moment, locked in time, trapped in that Wintery embrace. Her body longed for his electrifying touch and her chained up heart begged to be unleashed, but as always her mind took the reigns and directed her path, the road she would take.

She didn't know how she was ever going to face him again.

=================================================

Theodore Nott Jr. sat in front of the fireplace in the Slytherin common room. His body was tense and the atmosphere was far from relaxed. He had come back to the common room the day before searching for Hermione. After Hermione had left him with Harry, both decided to leave soon after. There was no point if Hermione wasn't there. But Harry stayed back to look at the small shops. Though he had been worried about Hermione's sudden departure he knew more than anyone that she would be okay.

Theo cracked his knuckles, his dark black hair covering his eyes. He tossed his head to the side in hope that his fringe would move out of his vision. His green eyes reflected the flames in front of him. He had knocked on Hermione's door but there had been no answer. He checked the library, the great hall, the potions room, practically everywhere so it seemed, and she was nowhere to be seen. Draco too was missing in action and that only caused him more distress. He didn't want to think about the possibility of those two being together, his fragile heart couldn't take it if that was true.
