~My Human~

Chapter 2

My last class was just about to end when this girl came up to me."Hey~" she said coming over to my desk (the teacher had given us time to do what we wanted) "hello." I said, not looking up from my writing "my name is Sofia" she said, I think she wanted me to look at her "nice to meet you." I said with no enthusiasm in my voice at all, then she was silent. "sorry... I don't mean to be rude. I get into my writing" I said looking up from my work "it's alright" she said. Then she smiled and blushed a little "are you single?" She asked looking at me, but she wasn't looking me in the eye. She was looking a tad bit lower I was guessing at my lips "umm. Nope. I'm dating someone right now" I lied scratching my head "awwwe" she said before she walked away. She was cute, just not my type. She also was wearing showy clothing. "Teenagers. Always lookin' for love" I whispered to myself as I shook my head and continued writing. Then the bell rang. I took my paper and stuffed it into my bag, then I ran off to my dorm. When I got there I saw Toby, he looked like he'd just got here because he was trying to catch his breath. "Hah! I beat you three times in a row!" He shouted pointing at me "I'll beat you one day my friend!" I shouted back as I put my bag over by our beds "in your dreams!" He said after he could breathe "your right. Im not fit enough for this." I said still panting. Then he started laughing at me. "Thats mean." I said jokingly "awwwwe I'm.... I'm not sorry" he said pretending to be sad. I sat on his bed and got out my now crinkled-up peice of paper along with my binder so i'd have something hard to write on "now if you'll excuse me, I have some writing to finish" I said getting out a pencil "whats it about?" He asked walking twards me "a brother and sister dealing with eachother." I said adding a title when he got here. He sat on his bed with me and watched me write "siblings" he read as I was writing  "yup" I said "Thats interesting" he said looking at the paper, I think he was reading it "yeah, I gotta write a front and back page. I'm halfway done though!" I said looking at him. "Have you ever had any siblings?" He asked still reading the paper "I had one when I was really really young but I never talked to her or anything so.... Yeah." I said trying to work around the fact that I don't get to see her because im a vampire and I was sure she didn't wanna see me either. "I'm sorry I asked" he said looking up from my paper. I just shrugged "ehh, your a curious human, I kinda expected it" I said looking down. "Yes, I am a curious human" he said, smiling. This was one of the only humans that i'd ever herd call themselves a human. "Any work you have to do?" I asked trying to move away from the sibling subject "nope. Is that all the work you have?" He asked "I have one more thing. I'm slow ok?" I answered "yes you are. Now stop talking and do your work! I want to go do something tomorrow and I can't have you here doing work because I want you to come!" He said quietly yelling "fine!" I said in a joking tone "okay! I'm gonna go eat something while you finish" He said going into the kitchen. After about half and hour I finished my work and I could tell that Toby was really bored. I saw him eat for a little bit, do the dishes, then he did something on his phone. All while he was asking me if I was done yet every 5 minutes. "I'm finished!" I said "finally!" He shouted from the other room "yes" I said as he came to where our beds were "what all did you have to do? Like was it math? History?" He asked "it was a math page and that writing" I said "how were you this slow anyways? Did something distract you?" He asked looking at me from the entrace to the part of the dorm where our beds were "nothing really. I was just slow, and even with the slight distraction I did have it wouldn'tve made a difference anyways." I said remembering that girl. "Okayyy whatever you say~" he said "anyways, what were you talking about earlier? That you wanted to go somewhere tomorrow?" I said putting my stuff back in my bag "oh yeah, a card festival! I want you to come with me to see the cards!" He said enthusiastically "I'll bet that all of them cost a fortune." I said "yeah. I still think it'd be cool to see them though!" He said sitting on his bed with me "well I don't mind going. Since its not hot outside." I said "yay! Also it starts at 8:00 in the morning" he said "okay." I said
