-PRESENT-

Guess history does repeat itself, and the greatest living example for this are Aanya and Nischay

"didi please mere liye.....put down the gun. Khoon kharabe se kuch bhi solve nahi hoga please"

Ajey rushed to her from behind them at the right time.
There would certainly have been some consequences if only he wouldn't have interfered.
Aanya's gaze shifted from Nischay to her brother, and then to Nischay again who was trying to comfort his sister. If not for that monster, but seeing his sister's condition, her heart melted and she kept her gun down.

"Ab aap dono chaliye, time ho raha hai shaadi ka" Ajey added and the four of them ventured out of the room

-SHAADI-

Aanya and Nischay go to the hall where their marriage ceremony was supposed to take place. Aanya forced a smile on her face as Nischay dispersed off towards the 'havan-kund' to perform some rituals. The only thing that mattered to them right now, was that this should go on peacefully and that this whole 'deal' should prove to be beneficial for them.

"Didi maaf nahi karogi mujhe?" Ajey whispered again as Aanya was busy boring holes at Nischay's head through her constant glares
She turned to look at her brother, who looked so vulnerable to her... the way it had been 20 years before. She hugged him softly.
"idiot kahin ka" she whispered as he hugged her back

"Dulhan ko bulaaiye" panditji chimed in
Aanya walked towards the sacred fire, where she was supposed to take the oath of loving him for 7 lives
Aanya sat down beside Nischay.
"Kya panditji, khel gaye aap toh" Aanya said as he sacrificed some flowers into the fire.
"mangalam bhagvaan vishnu mangalam  Garudadhwaja... beta maine kucch nahi kiya saari baat apne pitaaji se kijiyega.. omm" he said, sorry sang , not breaking the tempo at which he was reading the mantras
"Marega tu" Aanya said under her breath and Nischay giggled.
Panditji's mantra chanting only got louder and faster at her remark.

Then they got up for 'Jaimaala' and fere.
While they circled around the bright burning flame, in contrast with the darkness of hopelessness in their eyes, they were interrupted by somebody.
And that somebody seemed to be a VERY respected personality

When they had almost completed their fere, a lady of almost around the age of 80-90 years walked up from behind the crowd towards the stage, and as she did, Aanya's relatives and close people bowed to touch her feet.

she was inattentively chewing on cardamom, upon reaching in the center where she could address everyone she stopped. From her expressions to her aura everything just screamed one thing 'don't mess with her'.

She held up her hand like a streak of lightning and everyone stopped dead in their tracks- including Aanya.

Nischay nudged her from behind and Aanya gulped

"Yeh shaadi nahi hogi" She announced, her voice none less than a thunder.
Nischay would have straightaway pounced on her if not for Aanya, who had managed to whisper "ye meri family ki sabse respected budhiya hai, isse pange matt lena"
"respected aur budhiya ek hee sentence me, waah ji waah" he uttered under his breath
"for once Nischay, this is serious" she scolded him "woh humaari family ki 'ajji-maa' hain, inki baat sabko maan-ni hee padti hai" she reasoned
"arrey par aisa hai kyun, ye kaun hai?" he questioned
"wo toh mujhe bhi nahi pataa par itna maalum hai ki ye papa ki maa jaisi hain, aur inhe mafia ke 'dangers' se door rakhne ke liye waapis gaon bhej diya tha. Par udhar unki bohot respect hai. Par ye budhiya mar hi jaaye toh acchaa" she said irritated by that screaming 5-feet tall, antique piece
"kasam se kabhi mauka mile na, toh isko directly thokk hee dena hai maine. Na koi rishta na koyi matlab, bas apni chalaane aajaati hai har baar" she murmured  while that old lady created a ruckus
