Megan was with Avery and Carlos at the Strand Residence. She had come round to spend the day with Avery as she was still under 'Avery Watch' as Avery put it. Megan was sitting in the front room watching TV with Carlos as Avery had gone upstairs to finish getting ready as Jason was on his way round. Jason was Avery's best friend from L.A and they had known each other for many years. He had been there for Avery through everything she had been through. He had driven up yesterday from L.A and spent the night in a hotel and he was now on his way round to see Avery.
"He's here, he's here, he's here!" Avery squealed excitedly as she ran down from her room and straight to the front door.
"I think Jason's here." Megan joked to Carlos as Avery flung herself out the front door. They could hear Avery and Jason talking outside.
"-Carlos is inside with Megan, come on." Megan overheard Avery tell Jason. She heard them walk inside and the front door close. A few seconds later Avery led him into the lounge.
"It's nice to finally meet you in person." Megan said as Avery introduced them. Megan had only met and spoken to Jason over the phone or video chat before and most of that was during her stay at the strand residence after the fire.
"Likewise." Jason smiled.
"You should've seen her when she heard you pull up. She ran down the stairs repeating 'he's here!' and then flung herself out the front door." Megan laughed.
"I did not!" Avery laughed.
"Yeah, you did." Carlos nodded, hiding his smile.
"Shut up." Avery muttered glaring at them.
"You should have seen the time when-" Jason started to say but was quickly stopped by Avery standing on her tiptoes and covering his mouth with her hand.
"Don't. You. Dare." Avery glared at him.
"Speak a word of that day to anyone and I will make sure you die a slow and painful death." Avery warned him as she slowly removed his hand from his mouth and stepped back. She turned to see Carlos and Megan looking at them worriedly.
"For the record, that was a joke." Avery clarified.
"Uh-huh." Megan laughed awkwardly.
"Play nice." Jason warned Avery, making Megan laugh at Avery's reaction.
"I'm just going to pretend I heard none of that." Carlos tells her.
"What brings you to Austin?" Carlos asked Jason.
"Ave needed some advice on something, and we all know how she takes advice over the phone." Jason said, earning a punch from Avery.
"Ouch." He said, rubbing his arm as he composed himself.
"I also wanted to spend some time with Avery." He added.
"No school?" Carlos questioned him, making Avery roll her eyes.
"Dropped out, got my GED." Jason explained.
"Don't run a background check on him." Avery said, pointing at Carlos. He goes to say something, but Avery stops him.
"Don't you even say you weren't going to do that because I know you." Avery added.
"She's right. It's definitely something you would do." Megan laughed.
"I'm just looking at you." Carlos told the teen.
"I know you are, but Jason wouldn't be here if I didn't trust him. Or if my dad and TK didn't trust him." Avery said, making Carlos nod.
"Mind if I take over Avery watch for a while?" Jason asks Carlos.
"Err." Carlos said unsure.
"Pleaseee, he took care of me in L.A." Avery pleaded.
"Let me check with your dad or TK first." Carlos told her as he grabbed his phone from the table and walked out the room. He returned a few minutes later having spoken to Owen.
"He's fine with it." Carlos agreed.
"We'll keep our phones on us and Megan has Jase's number." Avery told Carlos before she disappeared to grab her jacket, leaving Jason standing there awkwardly.
"Carlos!" Avery shouted, having obviously heard from upstairs.
"We'll be back later." She told him as she reappeared in the room. Avery and Jason left, leaving Carlos with Megan.
"He seems nice." Carlos said to Megan.
"He is. I've spoken to him a little. He's Avery's best friend and has been for a while. She's safe with him." Megan reassured him.

It had been a few days. Megan was out with Avery and Jason for the day. They had gone to see a movie at the cinema, followed by a drive. Now it was mid-afternoon and they, well Jason, decided to stop at McDonalds to get them all something to eat.
"What do you want?" Jason asked Avery as he turned into the parking lot of McDonalds and headed for the drive through.
"Err, just a small fries and a water." Avery told him.
"And you?" Jason asked, glancing back at Megan in the central mirror.
"And don't even argue, I'm buying, end of." Jason said, making Avery snigger.
"Can I have a chicken nugget meal with a Dr Pepper?" She asked him. Jason nodded as he pulled up to the speaker.
"Hi there, can I take your order?" The person over the speaker asked as Jason rolled down his window.
"Hi, can I please get a large big mac meal with fries and a Dr Pepper."
"Yep."
"A plain hamburger happy meal with small fries and a bottle of water." Jason ordered for Avery.
"Yep, anything else?"
"And a large, ten piece chicken nugget meal with fries and a Dr Pepper, please." Jason finished on Megan's order.
"I'm really sorry we're out of chicken nuggets at the moment. Is there anything I can get you?" The worker asked.
"What...no chicken nuggies." Megan pouted.
"What do you want instead?" Jason asked her.
"Err, I have a plain chicken sandwich meal instead please." She told Jason.
"Yes, a large, plain chicken sandwich meal with fries and a Dr Pepper please."
"Anything else?" The worker asked.
"Get her a smartie mcflurry before she cries." Avery joked, tapping Jason's arm.
"And a smartie's McFlurry please, and that will be all thank you." Jason finished.
"Okay, your total is $17.97 at the first window." The worker told them.
"Thank you." Jason responded before he pulled the car forward to the payment window.
"Why'd you get a happy meal?" Avery asked him.
"So you could eat the fries and have the water, I can eat the burger and Megan can have the toy." Jason told Avery, making them laugh.
As they waited for the car in front to pay and move forward, Avery looked back at Megan.
"You okay?" She asked jokingly.
"No chicken nuggies..." She said sadly. Jason couldn't help but snigger.
"But you get a toy and ice cream." Avery cheered her up. Megan couldn't help but smile and laugh.
"It's like you're dealing with a child." Jason said as he pulled up to the window to pay. Avery and Megan burst out laughing as Jason paid and pulled forward. A few minutes later they collected their food and Jason parked up in the carpark so that they could eat.
"Here." Jason said, handing Megan the toy.
"It's a Disney toy!" Megan practically squealed. Avery burst out laughing at Megan's childish behaviour.
