What do they mean when they say broken?
When they look at my body and say it can't be fixed?
Why do they think that I'm going away?
Why won't they let me stay?
I promise I won't hurt anyone
or cause trouble when I know I shouldn't,
so why can't I stay?
I just want to walk in the sun,
just want to feel the grass under my feet,
the sun warming me,
the wind cooling me.
So why can't I stay?
I know that I was bad when I distracted mommy,
but was I really that bad?
I know she started screaming after the car hit us,
I know she was mad at me,
but I don't want to go,
so why can't I stay?
