Melissa's POV:

"Princess?"

I feel my body being shaken immediately after.

"Baby girl?," I hear the soothing voice whisper once more.

I flutter my eyes open. I squink my eyes before blinking to make my vision clearer.

I see Justin with a leather backpack on his back. His hand rests on my arm, rubbing it up and down before migrating to my cheek, caressing it.

"I'm leaving. Val's downstairs. I'll call you every chance I have. Stay safe for me, okay?"

I nod and sit up. His hand rests on my hip as he leans forward.

Our lips connect and move in sync. I feel butterflies in my stomach as he tightly wraps his arms around me, pressing his lips harder against me.

I run my fingers through his hair and tug on the ends. I feel myseof layed back down on my back.

He breaks the kiss and chuckles at me.

"You're not really doing this to me right before I go, are you?"

I giggle at him.

I cup his face in my hands before placing one last kiss on his lips and rubbing our noses together.

"Please be safe," I softly plead.

He rests his forehead on mine.

"Of course. I'll be back before you know it."

He pecks my nose and gets off me, heading for the door.

He stops and turns back, shooting me a small smile.

"I love you princess. Remember what I taught you."

I nod.

He leaves and I hear the door close from downstairs.

I look to my left and see the clock. It reads 5:25 a.m.

It's so damn early.

Footsteps sound in the house and Valerie stands in the doorway.

"Guess it's just you, me and Bella."

I look to my right and see my precious angel sleeping in her crib.

"I guess so."

Justin's POV:

* Chicago *

"Where the hell did Khalil say he was again?," I ask Za.

"He didn't say," Za answers.

I groan.

We continue to walk through the streets of Chicago in the cool, windy, cloudy weather.

"He's with the Hawks dumbass. He said that already," Connor interrupts.

I stop in my tracks and turn towards him.

"Who the fuck do you think you're talking to? Don't you know I could slit your motherfuckin' throat if I wanted to right now?," I threaten.

"Guys, chill the fuck out," Chris says.

He huffs out a breath.

"I will if Justin apologizes," he bargains.

I scoff.

"Apologize for what?!," I shout.

"For being such a dick."

"I'm not being a dick! I'm just being strict. Now is not the fuckin' time for out gang to be fuckin' up. These gang scuffles are getting more intense as time goes on. And I punched you in your face for a reason."
