The room felt empty without him. I slumped against the headboard. SERIOUSLY? How long is this going to keep happening?
Everyone's keeping secrets from you...The voice came again and I was really fustrated.
What secrets?? Come back here this instant! I screamed mentally.
But it didn't reply.

Jake's POV
Damn it! I slammed my fist into the tree next to me, breathing heavily.
I was scared. Scared that I was going to lose her.
"You alright?" Brennan put his arm on my shoulder.
"No." I pinched the bridge of my nose. I didn't even feel like shrugging it off.
"What actually happened in there?"
I winced. "Her wolf. She came out from hiding."
"What? For real?"
"Do I look like I'm joking?!" I snapped.
"Right. Sorry. So did her wolf tell her anything yet?"
I frowned, thinking about our last encounter. I hated that confusion in her eyes...
"No. She didn't."
"So... are you still going on with it?"
That is the question. The thing is, I really wanted to, but if she found out... there would be more chance of her going to him. But then... how could I let her go? If I told her right now, she would probably hate me less, but I wouldn't get to spend time with her... Fuck.
"Yes." I said with gritted teeth.
Let's just go on with it.

Chelsea's POV
I felt something touch the tip of my face. Jake.
"Hey." I scrambled up quickly. "Is everything alright?"
He smiled. "I'm sorry, I was just- worried. My wolf is more dominant sometimes you know," He laughed.
I rolled my eyes, smiling. Alpha males.
"Are you feeling better?" He tucked my hair behind my ear.
I nodded. "Is there something we can do?"
"Well, we had the picnic stalled..." He trailed off, grinning.
Harper was right. He really arranged it!
"Awesome! Just let me get changed..."
"Sure. See you later, sexy." He winked.
I sure didn't feel sexy at all. I was in bed. In one of his comfy shirts and my hair a braided tangled mess and my complexion probably really pale due to me passing out. Yep. Real sexy.
But instead I laughed and shooed him out the door, fitting into the coral bikini Al had hung in my cupboard after I had chosen it.
