When I pressed the elevator button, my dad had caught up. He pushed my hand down. "I would like to do some explaining. And I also want you to listen." He said behind me. I haven't seen this guy in 7 years and he has the gut to date my boyfriend's mom?
"I would also like some things. I would like you not to date her. I would also like you to not live with her. It would also make me happy if you cared about my mom. My actual one." I said in gritted teeth. He turned me around and sighed heavily. "Don't you dare step foot on that elevator young lady. Listen to my explanation and then you may speak." I nodded. He continued. "I haven't even forgot a little bit about your mother. Infact we are having an in memory party soon. But I need someone who will make me happy again. Someone who can love me." He said sitting down on the bench next to the window by the elevator. "so what am I? I don't love you?" I said in my questioning voice. He sighed again and cupped his face in his hands. "It's way more complicating." He said in a muffled tone. I uncovered his face. "You could've waited a little longer. You met her yesterday." I said patting his hands. He nodded and looked into my eyes. "I know but I needed to recover as quickly as possible from that loss in my heart. I can't bare to see it empty." Then we sat in silence for a while.
"The only thing I have in response is why did you leave without alerting me or my mom? Why did toy think that was okay? That ruined out family and you think coming back and showing up and acting cool about our family's death is okay?" I said in an angry yet hushed tone. "Dear, your mother and I weren't agreeing exactly when I left." He said clearly seeing I was frustrated. Why didn't he understand what his leaving had done to our family?
