Yesterday I got the henna tattoo and Hadley smiled really big when I showed him.
The doctor came in with a frown. "I can't see why your smiling when you only have 2 more days left of life." She said checking his blood sugar. "I know, Miley always makes me...ow!" He yelled. She poked the prick in his finger. He squeezed my hand really hard and then slowly let go. "Watch it next time please. Or warn me. Martha, I can't wait to get out of here." He said smiling at her. His smile is so contagious. "I will warn you, but I don't understand why you want to be watching tv in your last 50 hours remaining on the earth. Watch a movie. Invite friends." She said throwing her hands in the air. She was a very nice nurse and Hadley had known her ever since he first got here, right after the book incident. "Plus, your with the girl who punches you because of a book." She said sarcastically. She winked at me and carried the blood tube out of the room for testing. "I don't care." He yelled out the door and his mom shushed him. Izzy laughed and nodded. "Miley didn't cause this though." She said. "Let's change the subject." Mrs. Stewart said, shaking her head. She knew something I didn't. Izzy sighed and looked out the window. Then my dad walked in and sat right next to Mrs. Stewart and like that, he kissed her. "Um...this is so awkward." Hadley said looking at me like he thought I knew what was going on. He knew probably more than I did. "Oh yeah, you two might actually end up siblings." Mrs. Stewart said, now smiling. "You..with my dad?" I said laughing like she was playing a joke. Then I realized this was real. My smile faded. How did he move on from my mom so quickly. This is too much for me to handle. Hadley and I unlocked our hands and I left the room in a fast pace. I could here Hadley yelling at his mom and I could here my dad following but I didn't look back. My eyes were steaming and my face was bright red. I thought he cared about my mothers death.
