Chapter 4- Did I Mention

"Well, thank you for deflating Chad's ego a bit," I said, walking into the boy's dorm.

The four VKs were in there, looking over something. Jay looked up at me.

"Chad Charming?" Evie questioned.

"Obviously," I said. "Chad Charming has the biggest ego in the entire school. And you should meet my brother. He is as arrogant as Gaston." I looked at Jay. "Yeah, I'm not doubting that you guys will fit in. And liven up the kingdom, too. You guys are awesome." I took a deep breath. "Anything you need?"

"Nope. We're good," Carlos said, looking around at the others.

"Actually, one thing." Mal stopped me from leaving. "Who are your parents?"

I smiled. I let Mochi wrap around my wrist. "I'll see you guys at the game."

Coach had put Carlos and Jay in for the game. I smiled at Carlos doing a victory dance in front of the enemy. The game was going well already. The wind slightly cooled me off from the sun, making it more enjoyable to watch.

We cheered loudly after Ben had scored. Mal covered her ears at the loudness and I smiled. It was a bit shrill this season.

"Excuse me! Excuse me, can I have your attention, please?" Ben said over the microphone.

The crowd immediately quieted. "There's something I'd like to say! Give me an 'M'!"

"M!" the crowd shouted.

"Give me an 'A'!" Ben continued.

"A!"

"Give me an 'L'!" Ben finished.

"L!"

"What does that spell?" Ben questioned.

"Mal!"

"Come on, I can't hear you!"

"Mal!"

"I love you, Mal! Did I mention that?" Ben asked.

Audrey ran off the field in embarrassment. I wanted to smile, but knew it would be inappropriate.

"Give me a beat!" Ben pointed to the band.

"Uno, dos, tres, cuatros!" Doug shouted, the band playing after.

Did I mention that I'm in love with you?

Mal scaredly blocked him from a kiss. Ben wrapped an arm around her. "I love you, Mal. Did I mention that?"

Audrey took the microphone from him, making me glare at her. "Chad's my boyfriend now. And I'm going to the Coronation with him. So I don't need your pity date." Audrey kissed him right in front of Ben.

Ben took the microphone back from her. "Mal, will you go to the Coronation with me?"

Mal sighed, smiling. "Yes!"

"She said yes!" Ben freaked out as the crowd cheered.

Jay dragged Ben off, smiling. I stared as I looked at Ben. He was happier. I giggled when Jay was put on people's shoulders, holding the Tourney Cup.
