I tried to kick him away, but he dragged my leg and pulled me, resulting me in falling from the bed.

" You just don't understand?, Do you?" He said through gritted teeth as he placed the dagger on my neck

" It's you I don't understand Albert" I spit out, "Kartik and you were friends, what happened?"

" To get bigger, one has to think bigger, and now you shut up!!" He said as he pressed the knife against my throat

I struggled in his grip, and pushed him away somehow and ran out of the room.

" Where do you think you'll go?" He shouted from behind

I still ran downstairs to find someone to help me.

Kartik's POV

I summoned my powers and attacked the bulk of guards surrounding me. The human bond is really helpful, but I still couldn't find Jake, where the hell is he?

I picked up my sword to help others, and to find Jake.

Naira's POV

I hid in the basement in a storeroom, that is when I realised that there is blood on my throat, I winced as I touched the wound Albert gave me with that knife.

I heard some footsteps and became really still. If he kills me, Kartik would lose the war, so it's really important for me to be alive, the whole kingdom depends on me.

That is when I heard a pair of heels walking closer to where I was hiding.

" Did you find her?" Alber asked someone

" She would be here, where would that bi*** go?" Francesca said

Shit, Francesca was helping Albert, they're both in it together, but she loved Kartik, or maybe not, but how can she betray her own kingdom?, Especially when she is the daughter of the most highest noble.

" Where are you Naira? Please come out, I've had enough of you" she said sadistically

" My powers are exhausted, or she would've died by now" Francesca complained

" I told you to not control the whole palace, but you just had to!!!" Albert complained

" Don't raise your voice with me, don't forget that whatever you are darling is because of me, you don't even have sufficient powers to lift a glass" Francesca said as she kissed him

Great, they're in a relationship too. This drama would have been enjoyable if I was not running for my life. Suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my chest and I winced.

I could hear footsteps coming near me, when finally Albert kicked the door open and dragged me out.

" Finally, you made us do so much work" Francesca said she as forced my face to face hers.

" Do you really think, killing me is gonna work?" I asked

They both looked confused for a second

" Don't try to delay the time" Albert said as he brought the knife closer to my wound again, when suddenly the knife fell on the floor

" Not so fast honey" came Kristine's voice

" You said the palace was under your control??" Albert shouted at Francesca, who was equally shocked.

Suddenly they both were tied to a pole with a rope, thanks to Scott.

He then came near me as I collapsed in the ground, " you ok?" He asked

" I'll be fine" I said

Kristine squatted down and faced Francesca.

" You think you're powerful?, Please, tell this to someone else, your powers takes the form of what you do, you lack determination, sometimes you want Kartik, sometimes Albert, that's why your powers are weak, it depends on your emotions, not the type of rank you hold in this country" she said as she looked at them with hatred

" Will everything be alright?" I asked, I was feeling tired, it's like I fought in the war.

" You're bleeding, let's get you to a doctor" I heard Scott saying when I closed my eyes.
