Kartik's POV
I was having a meeting with the ministers when suddenly a guard barged in. I looked at him with a stern expression, everyone knows better not to disturb me when I'm having a meeting. He bowed and then came towards me
" Your highness, I want to inform you about something, in private" he said
I narrowed my eyes at him, what does he mean by in private, I was in no mood to leave the meeting room right now and it would not be a very good thing to ask all ministers to leave the room.
" You can tell me here, it's fine" I said scanning the room for any criticism, but they all held a confused expression.
" Lady Naira is severely injured" no sooner did he tell me, I shot up from my seat, the ministers also seeing me, stood up.
" HOW??" I asked in a dangerous tone, I don't even what has gotten into me
" She fell off the horse" he informed
" Where is she?" I asked before going out
" In her room, the doctor is treating her" he informed
I immediately went out of the meeting room, not caring about the ministers or anything, the guard following me.
" How did it happen?" I asked the guard, he lowered his gaze, means something is suspicious about the accident
" And you better tell me the whole truth" I threatened him
" Miss Francesca took her horse riding on the black horse and according to Miss Francesca, Miss Naira couldn't control the horse and she fell off" he informed trying not miss out any details
" Hell, even I had difficulty controlling that black horse, it's wild, she knew that" I said to myself, I was beyond angry.
I entered her room, and saw that the doctor was collecting her things and then my gaze fell on the pale and the fragile figure lying on the bed with a small bandage covering the side of her bed.
" Is she alright?" I asked in a worried tone as I went and sat on the bedside and held her hand.
" She fractured her left hand, I've healed it with magic, but it is still gonna pain for a few days, she also have a concussion, so it would be better if she stays on the bed for a while" the doctor informed me and then bowed and went out.
" GUARDS!!" I shouted, they came running in the room
" Get Francesca here, immediately!" I barked the orders and they bowed and went away.
I softly caressed her cheek, not to wake her up, I should be taking care of her, but I've done anything but that.
" Your highness" I heard Francesca's voice and saw her bowing to me.
I got up and dragged her out of the room to the connected living area to the room.
" What the hell were you thinking??" I asked her with a threatening look on my face.
" I just wanted to take her horse riding" she gave the answer with a innocent look on her face, as if.
" Don't play with me, I know you, you purposely choose the black horse, you know it easily goes out of control and still you choose it" I shouted at her, loosing all control.
Then suddenly, I heard a faint whimper from the room, I went to the room leaving Francesca, there was Naira sitting on the bed, with her head in her hands and saw Francesca leaving quietly from behind.
" Are you alright?" I asked her gently, what a dumb question Kartik, really?!
" My head is spinning and paining a lot" she replied with her head still buried in her hands
I handed her a glass of water, and she immediately gulped it down, then I shifted her a little bit so that she can sit comfortably.
" I'm sorry it's my mistake, I should've warned you"
I said, guilt getting the best of me.
" What no...I don't know how ride a horse and I still did" she said with a small laugh, how naive she is.
" No you don't know, what actually goes behind these castle walls" I said looking away with a serious tone
" What do you mean??" She asked, forgetting about everything
" Do you really think I like Francesca??" I asked her
She looked confused for a moment,
" well she's beautiful...."
I interrupted her in between, " so are you, more than her" I said, wait what?, Ya Naira is a beautiful girl, but I'm not sure about my feelings.
She was surprised for a moment but immediately hid her emotions, like everyone else.
" I don't like her, my mother forced me to date her, because she's the daughter of one of the highest officials of the country, so marriage with her would be beneficial for the royal family" I tried to explain her.
" But wht about other kingdoms?, You can marry a princess" she said, staring at me intently
" My grandfather wanted me to marry a girl from our kingdom" I replied
" You could've told your mother that you don't like her" she said, she looks adorable right now, trying to figure out things
" I've already tried that, but she doesn't listen to anyone, she's stubborn, so I gave in and got into a relationship with her, but now that you're here, things are different " I said
" What are you trying to imply?" She asked me while narrowing her eyes at me
" Depends what you want to imply" I smirked and then kissed her on the forehead.
