Aura Finley

My emotions were all over the place. The scene that Kian and Ezra created continued to play before my eyes even after they left with Zoya. It hurt me that Kian didn't keep my words of not messing up with Ezra, but at the same time somewhere inside I knew Ezra must have compelled Kian to act.

I needed to see Kian.

But I couldn't follow him since I was blocked by my teammates. They had circled me with their eyes fixed on me without blinking.

"What does their fight has to do with you, Aura?" Vinnie questioned.

"I..." I gulped not looking at anyone in particular. "I'm not sure." I managed to speak.

One question followed by another with no intention of stopping was hurled at me and I remained quiet due to my lack of thinking capability at the moment. My brain had shut the doors on me.

However, I tried answering my best but only ended up stuttering. Just then, Zoya arrived.

"What's going on over here?" She questioned no one in particular. I was relieved when she ordered everyone to resume the work, however, she stopped me.

"Aura, I wouldn't question whether you're the reason for the fight not, because somewhere inside I know you are." She stated calmly. I sensed the anger in her words but she chose not to take it out on me and I appreciated that.

"All I want from you is to make sure it doesn't happen again. Tomorrow is the big day and I wouldn't tolerate any harm to my reputation or my business."

I nodded my head. "I'll make sure of it."

"They both left to change and freshen up." She informed me and left. I released a sharp breath.

I made my way towards the cabin house at the back when I saw the guard, Sammy, who had made his mission to expose me anyhow, giving me a warning signal.

Passing him a fake tight-lipped smile, I marched to Kian's room, and without knocking, I barged in since I knew no other person would be there.

I found him standing by the bathroom door half-naked. Though I wanted to stare at his sculpted torso, I had important things to discuss with him.

"Kian..." I began but was stopped by his rambling as he hurriedly made his way toward me.

"Listen Aura, don't be mad at me. I know I shouldn't have done what I did but trust me it was him who provoked me to make a move. Please, believe me."

I didn't have to ask for more explanation because his eyes said it all. His eyes held the truth in them. But I wanted to know what exactly Ezra did that aggravated him.

He came closer, grabbed my shoulders, and pleaded with his mesmerizing eyes.

"I know you wouldn't do it after I told you not to. Though I want to know what he said that provoked you." I asked, roaming my eyes all over his worried face.

"He...he..." Sighing, he withdrew his hands from my shoulders and brushed his messy hair back.

"He insulted you in front of me. And believe me, if it weren't for you I would have broken every fucking bone in his body. He's a dual-faced fucker who displays himself to be a nice guy to get into the good book of women but he's scum in the name of man."

"Kian, calm down." I moved forward to grab his face and smiled. "He's not worth all the anger. I know you care for me which is why you acted that way. Believe me, I would have done the same if someone insulted you without knowing you."

His hands reached to hold my hands over his face. "You mean it?" He asked softly, to which I nodded my head.

He didn't think twice before dipping his head and sealing his lips with mine. It was a quick yet intense kiss. He dipped his head again to steal yet another kiss but I stopped him by covering his mouth with my palm.
