Though you are shattered and jaded
Contorted in agonizing fear and grief
And though you are lashing out at Me
Still I will reach through and see that
You, My child are more than your mask
Pieces are gathered within your heart
You cling to them like a koala to a tree
Scared to stay put, yet afraid to move
You are so strongly convinced that
You are nothing more than your mask
Apathy overwhelms the dying flame of joy
You don't want to come as you are
You don't come as you truly are
Instead you hide and bury yourself
But, I love you more than your mask
