━━━ (CHAPTER SIX)

JULIUS NOVACHRONO, THE 28TH WIZARD KING OF THE PROSPERING CLOVER KINGDOM, was staring at the vase of blue irises on the corner of his desk. They were once a present from a good old friend of his and they were real. Oh, so real. He just sprinkled a little of his Time Magic on the fresh flowers to preserve them for as long as he lived. The moment he dies will be the moment the flowers will wither away and his office will become an empty space for lonely hearts once more.

Many praised him like a hero. The people love him better than they'll ever love their true king. Julius appreciated that — of course, King Augustus Kira Clover XIII did not.

But whenever he remembers his pacing growth and memories that got him to where he was now, he'd always remember him and he'll always end up looking at the vase of blue irises.

Julius closed his eyes. Tomorrow was the Magic Knights' Entrance Exam. If fate was ever so kind once in a blue moon, he'll be able to see her again.

"Are you prepared?"

Anemone stared into the honeyed eyes of her mother and noticed how flatly dark her eyes were, carrying not a single flicker of light as if they were lifeless. Dark sacramento that melted into an even darker burnt avocado hue towards the centre and then dissolved into black towards the edges, seeming a little bit more than empty. Though not noticed nor seen in her peripheral vision, they contrasted her own eyes in terms of colours and eerily matched the same blankness to it. Their eyes had been an odd combination, an unusual pair seen in the village whose people had at least a little firefly dancing around their pupils, and both knew why they stood out but never involved themselves to discussing such matters openly. If people pointed out how their eyes were a stark contrast to others with eyes of life, they simply dismissed it though they very well knew what others didn't.

A smile adorned the blue-haired beauty's face, eyes softening to carry the message of how much she'll miss her when she's away. "Yeah, I believe I've got everything, Mother." Then she engulfed Rhea into a hug, chin resting on her shoulder. "Take care of yourself, alright? And uh... try not to scare people away."
