*Katsumi's POV*
We waited four days until the second exam ended. All the nine rookies passed which was good. We were ordered to go to the arena in the tower. When we were there we had to line up.
"First off, Congratulations on passing the second exam" Anko said "We will now have an explanation of the third exam. Everyone listen well" Anko said
"Excuse me. I, Gekkou Hayate, the judge, will explain" Hayate said "Everyone, before the third exam, there's something I want you to do. Please fight in preliminary rounds to see who gets to advance to the third exam's main battle" Hayate said
"Sensei, I don't understand what do you mean by preliminary rounds" Sakura said "Why can't we start the third exam with the remaining examinees?"
"Because the first and second exams were too easy and there are too many examinees left. 21 examinees left in total. According to the chunin regulations, they must decrease the number of participants for the third exam" Hayate explained
"There are many guests for the third exam, so we cannot just have a lot of matches. We are limited on time as well. So, those who aren't feeling well..." Hayate said then started to cough
"Excuse me. If anyone wants to quit after hearing the explanation, please let me know. The preliminary rounds will begin immediately"
"Immediately?!" Kiba yelled
"I forgot to mention but, you will have one-on-one matches from now on. So please withdraw if you wish"
Kabuto raised his hand
"I'll quit" Kabuto said
"Kabuto-san?" Naruto said
"Let's see.... You are Konoha's Yakushi Kabuto, right? You may leave then" Hayate said
"Kabuto-san! Why are you quitting?!" Naruto asked
"I'm sorry Naruto-kun, but my body is already worn out" Kabuto said, gave Naruto a wave and a smile then left
"Then, let's begin the rounds" Hayate said
The first match was someone from Kabuto's team Vs Sasuke
The match ended, Sasuke acted up a bit and did this thing called lion barrage but he won and Kakashi took him away.
Next was, Kankuro Vs someone from Kabuto's team. The match ended in Kankuro's favor who didn't break a single sweat
The next match was Sakura Vs Ino and the match ended with a draw
Then it was Tenten and Temari. Temari won the match
It was my turn now. I was up against someone from Oto called Zaku so I jumped down to the arena
Zaku had both of his arms broken "Hey, you sure you can fight like this?" I asked
"Don't underestimate me" Zaku hissed
"Hey, chill. I was just asking. No need to get offended Dattebane" I stated
"Begin"
I rushed to the side of the arena and threw kunai at Zaku. He took out of his bandaged arms and deflected the kunai. I charged at him and started trying to land punches. "Air slicer" He said as a wave of sound came my way. I dodged then threw some kunai and shuriken at Zaku. I charged at him and attempted to punch his face. He moved his head, but I elbowed his temples and launched him away. "Suiton: Suiehira" I said then mimicked a gun with my hands and started firing water bullets at Zaku who was running around, and avoiding them. "Just fricking stay still!" I growled then dashed in front of him but stayed low then I roundhouse kicked him to the wall. He wasn't moving at all, so I walked up to him to see if he's okay. Then suddenly, Zaku grabbed my face and released a sound attack that really killed my ears. I got out of his grip then slammed my hands against my ears and ruptured the eardrums.
In the end, the victory was mine. I may have made him unable to fight again, but all is good
