Once upon a time
no such thing, fuck your fairy-tales
They're all just lies
spinning stories 'til the end of time
You told me, as a passing remark
I'll have the bed all made up
For when you get home
I couldn't stop the pain, as it escaped in my tears
Home died somewhere with him, so I had to hang up
I haven't said one word
one grammatically correct reply
no words will ever fall off again
from these pretty lips used to only telling lies
I'm never going home
There's no home left for me
Home is time and ashes
Home is for the free
I just wanted you to stop
your mouth shaping all the things that hurt
like its all been just so simple
a slogan written on a cheap t-shirt
This feeling I have
I could never explain
It's like thunder before lightning
without the relief that comes with rain
You said my eyes were many embers
Your gaze what was needed to put them out
But baby you know how it goes
We both come from fire and ashes, melancholy and doubt
So you go first, I knew I never had a choice
No matter how I'd pretend you were meant to go first I'm left for a lifetime trying only to catch your voice
On the wind it comes in from the sea
It toys with my hair and my smile and my mind
Fuck what they say the winds always the same
It may change but 4 faces is all it has and none be kind
Once upon a time
no such thing, fuck your fairy-tales
They're all just lies
spinning stories 'til the end of time
