Twenty-Two

Three months 

A knock at the door was what got Savannah's attention as she made breakfast for her daughter. They were gonna go out to the lake with Miley and Michael for the day. She really wanted to take her mind off of everything and just spend time with Hazel.

She had a bikini top on and jean shorts because it was hot as hell. She looked down at her small baby bump that you could clearly see already. She thinks that she's around four months but she hasn't gone to the doctors yet so she doesn't really know. When she was pregnant with Hazel her bump didn't even start showing a lot until she was six months but for some reason she already looks like she's six months when she's not.

She wiped her hands on a towel before heading to the front door. When she pulled it open she froze immediately.

Standing there in front of her was Connor Hart with his arm in a sling and cast. Her body seemed stuck in place as she brought a hand to her mouth and one to her baby bump.

"I told you I'd come back."

Savannah choked on a sob before jumping into his arms with her arms around his neck and legs around his waist. He wrapped his arm around her and fell to his knees as he himself choked on a sob. She held onto him tight as if the minute she let go he could disappear into thin air. She just wanted-- no, needed to hold him.

"Oh honey." she cried and pulled back to look at his face. "H-How--"

"They didn't know I was still there. Me and a few other guys made it to a bunker but it took forever for them to find us. I'm so sorry baby." he put a hand on her cheek and actually took a minute to look over her appearance. 

Her eyes had very dark bags under them and she looked totally exhausted. He took notice how she was in a bikini and when his eyes trailed down her body he froze at her belly.

"Savannah..." his voice trailed off as his mouth went agape. Her eyes welled up again when he put a hand on her bump. "You're pregnant?"

She nodded and he lifted her into his arms again. She held him close to her as tears fell from both of their eyes.

Savannah reluctantly pulled back to look at his face. "It's really you." she cupped his cheeks and just being able to touch him made her heart flip.

He nodded his head and she leaned up to press their lips together. 

"I love you so much." she cried as they pulled away.

"I love you more."

"Oh my god. Hazel. Y-You need to see Hazel." she didn't wait for his response and pulled him towards the living room where her mother and Hazel were both sat. 

When her mom looked up she froze at the sight of the man. Hazel looked up from her toys and looked at Connor. Her bottom lip wobbled making her parents hearts hurt.

"Daddy?" she whispered.

"I'm here sweetheart." Connor kneeled down with tears in his eyes as he looked at his daughter.

"Daddy!" she pushed her toys away and ran into his arms. He choked on a sob and held her as close as he could.

Diane looked at her daughter who had tears threatening to fall again. Connor stood up and pulled both of his girls into his arms.

"Oh god, I'm never leaving you guys again." he said as Hazel wrapped her arms tightly around his neck.

"I lu you dada." Hazel whispered making Connor's bottom lip tremble.

"I love you more Princess."
