Chapter One [Years Ago]

Y/N's POV:

My eyes flutter open as the wonderful smell of breakfast flies through my nose.

The bright morning sun shines through my blinds as i wipe the tiredness out of my eyes.

Sounds of pancakes and bacon sizzle downstairs. Someone must be cooking.

Realization hits me across the face as i finally realize what day it is.

ITS MY BIRTHDAY!

Y/N: *Gasp*

I immediately jump out of bed and run downstairs into the kitchen.

My mother cooks breakfast in the kitchen.

I walk to the table and i sit in a chair.

She soon notices me.

Mom: "Goodmorning, Y/N! Happy Birthday!" She speaks in a happy tone.

Y/N: "Thanks mom!"

She walks towards the table and leaves a plate of breakfast in front of me.

Two pancakes, and two bacon strips drizzled in syrup.

I pick up my fork and i begin eating excitedly.

Mom: "Today is a special day for you~ And there's a surprise." She says to me.

I turn my head over to her. I notice that she's hiding something behind her back.

Y/N: "What is it?"

She removes her hands from her back and reveals to me a pokeball.

Mom: "YOUR FIRST POKEMON!" She yells happily.

I jump in surprise. My eyes grow wide open.

Y/N: "R-REALLY!?"

She walks towards me and hands me it.

Mom: "Since your father wasn't able to make it, he gave you your very first pokemon to makeup for it!"

I gaze at it in amazement. My first pokemon....

Mom: "What are you waiting for? Open it!"

I aim it towards the floor and i throw the pokeball.

A bright light shines throughout the kitchen for a couple of seconds.

As the the light fades, i look down in front of me to see a small pokemon.

It looks all around before it looks above to me with a smile.

Y/N: "WOAH!" I yell in amazement. I run towards it and get on a knee.

I reach out to pet her, but she backs up a little. Guess she seems a little shy.

Mom: "Y/N, this is fennekin. Make sure you take good care of her, okay?"

My head nods.

Y/N: "Hi fennekin, i'm Y/N! You sure are cute." I say happily.

Her glistening red eyes gazes at me.

She slowly walks towards me. I take this opportunity and pet her gently.

Fennekin smiles warmly. I'm glad she trusts me.

Y/N: "Thank you so much, mom."

Mom: "Of course sweetie. I'm sure you two will be the best of partners!"

I hug fennekin joyfully.

Yeah, the best of partners..
