The world is in crisis.
Covid-19 sweeps across the planet,
With patent negative effects on the poor and the poorer countries.
Religious disharmony continues, as does racism,
The west continues to sell arms to those who oppress.
In the midst of this;
If you have any access to any kind of media,
You cannot have missed the Right Royal Rumpus
That rages.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex,
Harry and Meghan, to the initiated,
Left the UK to escape the Negative press.
(Note the emphasis on Negative,
We can assume positive press is okay.)
Wanting to avoid publicity,
They shared their dissatisfaction
With Oprah Winfrey,
Who syndicated it
Across the globe.
We were treated to complaints of;
Daddy not taking phone calls,
Baby not getting a title,
Military privileges being removed,
And Racism!!!!
I struggle to reach for the tissues,
My eyes remain dry.
If you don't want publicity
Stay away from it,
And the millions of dollars it brings in.
Where is the compassion
For the countless millions,
Who have no access to water,
Let alone vaccine.
Where is your gratitude for the privileged life you lead??
