~ Caelen ~

"I want a break up"

Those words could practically break the world because they were certainly powerful enough. A break-up in my school was one of the worst scandals to set upon gossip land, it wasn't even fair on me. I was already in the firing line, I couldn't be pushed into anymore drastic drama decisions.

"A break up?! You have got to be shitting me!" I exclaimed, standing up as Theadora did the same, her eyes filling with tears as she shrugged. "We had a deal!"

"Now Caelen, think rationally about this-" Peter began, making me scoff and let out a very sarcastic, vicious laugh.

"No! No, fuck your rational thinking, she can't do this!" I hissed, looking Theadora dead in the eye as she sighed. "The School year finishes in 2 months time and you want to break up?!"

"I never wanted it to last this long Caelen, ever since Briar left, things aren't the same here anymore" She explained, looking down as she fumbled with her hands. "Us being together was just pretend anyways! You wanted me because of my godmother's status and I wanted you because of your status in this fucking school! And you know what? I don't need this anymore. I have enough talent to get by without you! I told you I was done last night!"

"Yeah, while I was shit-faced!" I screamed, not even paying attention to how my mother was flinching at the volume of my voice. "What about us? We're one of the most popular couples in Reborn and that's the only thing stopping my status from falling apart!"

"You know that's not true, no one here knows about the drugs so how is your status suffering at all?" She hissed, shaking her head as I bit my lip. "I can't stay here anymore Caelen, we've run our course and it was good while it lasted but we both know there is no purpose for me now. I can't replace her for you any longer"

"I'M NOT TRYING TO REPLACE HER!!" I hissed, rubbing my face with my hands as I took in deep breathes. "I-I'm not, we're beginning to work things out, in fact"

"Then why has she flown to England?!" Theadora asked, raising her eyebrows as I furrowed mine. Wait, what?

"What do you mean? She hasn't, I saw her a couple of hours ago" I muttered, looking at Theadora as she shoved her phone in my face, sure enough there were photos of Briar at the airport. What?

"See? Whenever she's gone, you cling to me. You use me Caelen, and I can't be put through that anymore" She whispered, wrapping her arms around me as I began to cry a little. "Your dad agrees with me. I should be allowed to leave if I want to, but I'll agree to do the break-up on your terms. If anyone in the media thinks you're on a breakdown and begin to blame your dad, I'll set them straight, I swear"

"You know what? No, no I'm finished here" I growled, making my way to the apartment door when I heard them all protest against me. And I knew exactly why..

I needed the drugs, and even though I promised Sierra, I couldn't help myself..

My whole world was crashing down right before my eyes, and all I wanted to do was call Briar and ask her for advice. Could I do that? Would she let me? Probably not. We're still strangers in her eyes. Strangers with memories. I decided to text her, asking her why she was in England to judge upon her response.

To: My Bri

Hey, what are you doing in England?x

5 minutes passed. 10 minutes passed. 30 minutes passed, and that's when the need became too strong for me to ignore, so I happily dialled Louis' number.

Sorry Briar.

~ Briar ~

After seeing my family for a matter of hours, I decided to walk back to the park and call Caelen. After all, it was rude of me to ignore him earlier when he just wanted to know if I was okay and whatnot. I should be thankful that he's taking an interest, right?

'Hello? Louis speaking?'

I was suddenly taken back by the guy answering Caelen's phone. Who the fuck was Louis? Because Caelen had never mentioned a Louis around me.

'Uhm, Hi? It's Briar, where is Caelen?'

'He's a bit tied up at the moment, can I take a message to tell him in a couple of hours?'

'No. What is he doing?'

'What's it to do with you?'

'I'm his girlfriend'

Okay, huge lie right there. But I needed to find out what the fuck he was doing. Because I had this sick, sick feeling in my stomach that he was doing the very thing he swore not to do.

'Right, well, he's busy in the dance studio, so it's a bit difficult to pull him out'

My stomach immediately settled at those words. He was safe.
