"Åh, dritt,*" I swore under my breath.

How the hell was I ever going to explain what a mobile phone was to two guys from the 1940's? This type of technology was decades off being used. My head was pounding from everything that had happened over the past 24 hours. I had no idea how I was going to get myself out of this. In the mean time Dierks was still blaring out of my phone and Bucky was desperately trying to stop it.

"When a mountain of a man with a Born to kill tattoo
Tried to cut in, I knocked out his front tooth
We ran outside, hood slidin' like Bo Duke
What was I thinkin'?"

"Who the hell is Bo Duke and how the hell to I turn this damn thing off!" Bucky yelled, hitting the screen of my phone, getting more and more frustrated when nothing happened.

I leaned across and grabbed my phone out of his hand and quickly turned the music off. Both men were looking at me in shock, not knowing what was going on. I sighed and pushed as few curls that had fallen out my ponytail out of my face and tried to figure out were I was going to start. Taking a deep breath, I started my story and decided to tell the truth. I mean, things couldn't get worse could they?

"My name is Kimberly Odinson, I was born in Nashville Tennessee in the year 1982. I grew up on my family farm with my parents, my mothers parents and my little brother, David. I always believed growing up that my father was from Norway, but in the past few days I found out that I was very wrong. We took a trip to Norway where he told me that was from Asgard, the place of Norse myths and that his brother was Odin, the All Father of the nine realms."

"He told me that he gave up his powers to live as a mortal with my Mother under the conditions that one day a decedent of his would inherit his powers if they were deemed worthy in the eyes of the all father. That person that was deemed worthy was me. It was a shock that he was Asgardian but I had always had strange powers growing up. I just haven't told anyone about them."

"When we got home to Tennessee my father told me not to tell my mother or anyone in the family as it could put them in danger, which I agreed to. I love my family and would do anything to protect my family. But something happened when we got home which it what brought me here."

"My family were sitting in our lounge room, catching up and talking about my fathers and my trip to Norway when something strange happened. I had got up to get a drink for the kitchen when I saw a bright blue light flash across out fields. The next thing I knew our house was being raided by men in what looked like black nazi uniforms. My family managed to fight our way out and get to the car. And that was when..."

I had to stop for a second before I told them about my father. This would be the first time that I had to say out loud that my father was dead. I felt like if I didn't say it, it wasn't true. That is was all a bad dream and I would wake up back in my room and my father would still be alive. I could feel the tears start to fall down my face as I looked down to my lap. It was then I felt the lounge shift slightly under me as Steve moved closer to me. Slowly he grabbed my hand and looked up to see his kind blue eyes looking at me. Not judging me at all. His silent support was all I needed to continue.

"That was when the man in charge of them killed my father. He stabbed him in his back, straight through to his heart. The last I saw my father was when he took his last breath in my mothers arms, in a pool of his own blood. I don't know what came over me, but when the man left I chased him. I just couldn't let him get away with murdering my dad in front of not just me but the rest of my family."

"He ran in to our fields, which really was a mistake on his behalf. I grew up in those fields and knew them like the back of my hand. I caught up with him and saw that he had this weird blue cube in a case. I don't know what that cube was but I knew at the time that I had to get it away from him. We grappled for the case when the cube fell out of its case in to my hands. The man was holding on to my arm when everything turned blue and I started to feel like I was falling. At some point of time me got the cube back and let go of my arm. That was when I landed here, in the middle of the street and Steve saved me."

Both men were silent, trying to process what I had just told them. Steve was still holding my hand and was looking at me with a sad smile. Bucky on the other hand was looking at me like I was insane and wanted to get me right out his life before I caused anymore trouble.

"I am so sorry that you had to lose your father in such a horrible way. It's never easy losing a parent. My father died when I was young and my mother died a few years ago. She was a nurse in a tuberculosis clinic when she got it and couldn't shake it. I know how you feel Kimberly and I promise you do find a way to live with the pain."

"Thank you Steve. That really means a lot to me. It was the first time says out loud that he was murdered, it kinda made it feel more real."

Bucky laughed humourlessly from across the room where he had gone back to so he could lean on the wall, creating as much distance between the two of us as possible.

"I'm sorry Steve, but do you really believe a word she is saying. Just because she has a pretty face doesn't mean she is telling the truth. I mean seriously, her father was a literal god who gave up his powers. Why the hell would he do that? And don't give me that true love crap, this isn't a fairy tale. And she just happened to be the one that inherits his so called powers. Let's not mention the nazi with a glowing cube that sent her back in time. I don't believe a single god damned word she just said. I don't see any special powers. She's just a liar and a con artist and we should just throw her out. I knew she was trouble the moment you made me carry her back here!"

I knew that Bucky was just trying to protect his best friend. I would have done the same thing in his position, but my father had just been murdered and I really wasn't in the mood to defend my family to a complete stranger.

"You want to see proof of my powers, well fine!"

I let go of Steve's hand and stood up. I could feel my hand getting colder the longer I looked Bucky in the eye. Before he could say another word, I sent a icicle flying at him so that it hit the wall right next to his head.
