"Luke, are you alright?" he asked.

"How did you get this number?" I demanded.

"Did Cole give it to you?"

Wait a minute, that wasn't like Cole to just give people my number.

She would never do something crazy like that.

"I heard the explosion," Zach insisted, ignoring my question.

"I'm fine," I sighed. "But where did you hear it from?"

Again, he ignored my question.

"How did you get my number, Zach?" I asked suddenly.

Zach let out an annoyed sigh.

"Cole gave it to me," he answer.

"She wanted for us to spend some time together."

Cole said that? I thought.

"Was that even true?" he questioned. "That you kissed-"

"I have to go," I interrupted.

I hung up on Zach then walked over to a cop.

"Did another explosion happen?" I asked.

The cop nodded and wrote the incident on his notebook.

"Do you know who did it?" he asked, chewing a wad of gum.

I shook my head.

"Is Jerry going to be alright?" I asked urgently.

The cop looked at me strange.

"How do you know the civilian's name?"

"Alexander Hilton hired me to investigate the death of his wife murder." I explained.

"Seems like every time I leave a room, the whole building explodes."

The cop laughed at this.

"You're just a kid," he said. "How is a kid, like you involve in crime?"

"The same reason why you chose being a cop," I explained.

"To find out the truth."

"By the way, is June Hilton and the nurse alive from the earlier blast?"

The cop shook his head.

"They both died," he sighed. "I am very sorry."

I swallowed my sadness.

Alexander is not going to be happy with this. I thought.

"For now," the cop continued. "We are going to put this man in the hospital and ask him what he knows."

The cop gave me a pat on the back, but I shrugged it off, not wanting to be touched.

He gave me a brief nod then joined the other cops.

My phone suddenly buzzed again, and this time it was Seth.

"Hey dude," he greeted.

"Why didn't you pick up the phone when I called you?" I scowled.

"I wanted to call you, but then I saw Alexander's parents."

"What did they say?" I asked hopefully.

"They told me everything about Alexander and his wife," Seth said.
