Happy Friday, all! Just wanted to drop a quick line and say thank you to all my new followers. If you've not checked out my zombie apocalypse story, Leaves of the Fallen, I encourage you to check it out. It's been finished for a couple months now but is oddly climbing up the horror charts. Have a good weekend, regardless!

Hi David, I just came across your profile and your books. I look forward to reading each of them as soon as I finish the book I am currently reading.
I am from Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. My oldest daughter spent a year in Iraq and is a Senior at LSU, and a current resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
I do look forward to your books.

Hello, everyone! Yes, I am still alive. Rumors of my demise were greatly exaggerated. I hope all of you had nice holidays. We've only just now finished ours this past weekend. Lots of family to visit.

I have however been writing like mad. I'm working on final revisions for Lagniappe so that I can get it ready for selling. It's a slow going process as I'm trying to interweave the stories a bit more and go more into more depth here and there.

I'm also working on a new batch of short stories. Theese are quite erotic in nature, so I'm not sure if I'll post them to WP and if so, if I'll use this account. I may post one or two and see how it goes.

Bottom line, I'm spending most of my spare time writing, which is great. I just need more hours in the day!

Your stories are dead good, love. I've sacrificed quite a lot of time reading your short stories/novellas, and might I say it was worth it.
I thoroughly enjoy reading your published works and words of wisdom hidden in your stories.

@FaunaTchaikovsky That's really awesome! I'm glad you've enjoyed my work so much. I've put a lot of work and love into them, and it's very rewarding to see that comes through to readers.

Thanks again for the wonderful compliments!

Heeey, when did Lagniappe get to over 12k views? Congrats, bro!

Do you plan on ever doing a type of sequel to it, or like a spinoff based on the background characters' POV's? I, for one, would like to see what Bernie and Amy's parents must have felt between "They Being Baptist" and "Coffee and the Feel of Her Hands". Do you think they might have reached out to a support group, and if so, was there an awkward time between the kids and their parents?

Hm...Maybe a prequel, then?

For example, it could be about a quick history as to why they might have chosen breaking them up instead of kicking them out in disgrace. Maybe one of them were in a similar situation with their parent(s), and were given an ultimatum: family, or faith? That situation could have been remembered with Bamy (ship name confirmed).

@GraceNightingale Thanks for the congratulations. Back in October it was selected to be featured, so it's gotten tons of reads since then.

All of the short stories in Lagniappe are currently undergoing final revision. I'd like to have them actually published and for sale, so I'm presently fleshing them out more and tying them together with common threads. I also have one or two other stories to add to the collection, although I'm not sure if I'll post them on WP.

I like the idea of a story featuring Bernie and/or Amy's parents. Getting the tone right would be difficult, and Amy's father would be especially tricky to write. Sounds like it might be fun!

Did either set of parents reach out to a support group? It's hard to say. Southern Baptists are very big on appearing devout, whether they are in private or not, and either set of parents attending some sort of support group might seem like an admission of poor parenting. And it would be some religious support group, likely one held at the church itself and run by other church members, making it even less likely. However, I wouldn't put it past either set of parents to reach out to another set of parents whose children had committed the "sin" of premarital sex to gain some outside perspective.

Bernie and Amy's relationship with their parents became very strained. At the end of "They Being Baptist", Bernie is no longer attending church and lying to his parents about it. That is a huge deception for Southern Baptists.

In "Coffee and the Memory of Her Hands" Amy states that she hasn't really forgiven her parents for forcing them to break up nor even talks to them much anymore, and Bernie has a visceral rage reaction when she mentions them.
