If I had been born Karen or Lisa or Sybil, my dad never would have cried in front of an audience of Las Vegas show-goers. But I was born Holly, and that is why the cast of the hit musical 'Hello Dolly' sang 'Hello Holly' on the eve of my birth, causing my dear father, who was playing piano in the orchestra, to bawl like a baby.

My formative years were riddled with mayhem, partly due to my brother's penchant for pyrotechnics, and partly because I was growing up in Vegas under the often lax supervision of my musician parents. Without revealing my exact carbon dating, I will admit to having met some heavy hitters from 'old Vegas', the perks of being a musician's daughter, and welcome fodder for my stories. The fact that I receive Christmas cards from Elvis Presley's nurse gets most conversations going.

If you think I'm still in Vegas, you are mistaken. I headed for greener pastures where I can lie down in the tall grass instead of xeriscape and smell the wisteria and not exhaust. I am happily married and helping to mold four young minds. I have no fancy degree, just the degree of life and twenty years experience honing my editing skills.

I am sharing my writing with the Wattpad community for feedback, which, according to the brochure, should help me become a better writer. I have taken the liberty of adding cast photos and songs that inspired me during the writing process. If you like what you read, please comment. To a writer, reader comments are like getting a greeting card. Just think of the good karma it will generate.
