Amanda Guy

I'm an aspiring writer. Writing has been my passion since I was a child and I've finally decided to buckle down and get serious about my career as an author. I write YA fiction, including realistic fiction, romance, sci-fi, fantasy, horror, and supernatural/paranormal, as well as dabble in poetry (though I don't believe it's my strong suit). My ultimate goal is to become a New York Times' best-selling author. I'm pursuing my career through self-publishing via Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing, though I'm looking to branch out and advertise myself and my books (whenever I get around to writing them, that is).

I'm twenty one years old and I live in a small Oregon town with the love of my life and our beautiful, crazy one year old, Hudson Monroe. They are the driving force behind me getting reinvested in my writing. It's a bit of a challenge, as any parent knows that babies are a wonderful handful. We also have a cat, Sno-ball, and two geriatric dogs, Gizma Bean and Nacho Cheese.

Outside of writing, my other passions are painting and photography, though I'm an amateur at both. I am also a lover of music. I find it to be a wonderful mood-setter for when I settle in to write. Some of my favorite music to listen to when I write is from John Mellancamp and Billy Joel, though I listen to an eclectic mix as well. Of course, I'm also an avid reader. I'm a huge fan of Stephen King, but you'll also find a lot of Dean Koontz, James Patterson, and Michael Connelly on my shelves, as well as a slew of other genres.

Growing up, I have always enjoyed reading. I love delving into the amazing worlds writers create, and I found myself inspired to create my own. What began as a childhood pastime is now on its way to becoming my chosen career path. I want to bring to life the characters and worlds I create in my head so everyone can enjoy them with me.

Please bear with me on this amazing journey ahead of me. There will be obstacles and roadblocks, but I promise I won't disappoint.
