Just wanted to start off with this little thought I had a few weeks ago...
Writing is such a complex idea because there are movies now. It may not seem as simple as that, but in it's essence, it's completely true. In movies, little details can be filled in for you. The way the room feels so claustrophobic is not considered in the book, but in the movie, it's one of the most essential parts. The details that make or break the scene don't have to be mentioned, they are felt. When I write, I have so many thoughts that I want to add to the scene, but I don't want to be another Dickenson, I don't have a way to express those ideas. In a book, the little details are lost, unless a writer finds a way to recreate them. The modern age has created less demand for books because they are compared to movies. There are only a few writers who can write like it's a movie. Great writers create a movie in your head. I can't write like that. I'm here to create a story that you can fill in the blanks yourself. Everyone's interpretation will be different, but that's perfectly okay.
Please, enjoy.
