Mathew Anders (aka Mat) grew up in Modesto California, where blue-collar work is the norm and where imagining outside the box is considered to be a fruitless venture. (Don't believe it? Ask George Lucas.)  He is a "farmboy" dreaming of a bigger and better future far away from the same old humdrum, a future in the entertainment industry. Can writing original stories be his ticket out of the farmland and into a bigger universe? 

Mat hesitantly pursued a career in the medical field instead of chasing where his imagination would lead him. Working as an Engineer/Firefighter/EMT and as a Patient Care Technician and Biomedical Technician. The jobs he held, although rewarding in their own right, left him wanting more from life. He held both jobs for twelve years before a shoulder and back injury forced him to re-evaluate his career options. 

Mat has been writing nonstop throughout his medical career which gives him a darker and more realistic point of view that's also heartfelt and meaningful. He has been known to write in many different styles and formats from; medical documentation and legal audits, to lyrics and poetry, short stories, screenplays, novels, and music. Some would say he is a man with many hats, he would say it's his "never-ending enthusiasm to tell a great story" getting the better of him. Mat is currently working on three animations, a graphic novel about mythological gods, a post-apocalyptic psychological thriller novel, and countless short stories and music.  

Mat's hobbies include lego building, writing stories and music, and reading everything he can get his hands on. Books ranging from Stephen King to particle physics and philosophy, mythology, and space operas. He is often found with a huge smile on his face while dancing around with his headphones on. He is currently sharing a wonderful life with his girlfriend Gabby and their fur-children L.J. and Baby.
