When I was a kid I spent a lot of time peering into holes at the roots of pine trees and wondering just what was making that rustling sound inside. Secretly, I hoped for a glimpse of the wee folk (all I ever saw were ground squirrels and bugs) but I did learn to appreciate the beauty and diversity of the forest.

I like to draw and write about animals, forests, and angsty teenagers. I love fairy tales, and the little hidden things that many people never notice.

In February 2017, I was diagnosed with cancer and, in between feeling sick and going bald, I picked up a story that I wrote years ago. My too busy life didn't give me much time to finish it  (I know - you gotta MAKE time) but I fell in love with it, again.

After re-reading my story I started sketching the characters and the setting. Soon, I was inspired to start revising.

I am almost finished with cancer treatments and feeling very optimistic that I have this beat and that I will finish my novel.. Who would have thought that even cancer could have a silver lining?

I have a cute mutt named Pippin, two great kids, and a husband who is taking me on my dream vacation to France after I have recovered and am healthy again (Summer 2018). 

So, YAY! Life is good and every moment is precious. I wake up grateful for every new day.
