I am a openly queer teen with a passion for the arts; I love all things music, art, and writing. I was a gifted student in school and always had a very vivid & creative imagination - that is the fuel for my book ideas. I typically get inspired by the most random things & end up creating detailed outlines for books within minutes.
My favorite part of creating a story is creating the characters - I often get ideas for characters before I do the story itself, and a lot of my books were made for characters (i.e. I had the idea for the character(s) first & created a story to put them in).
Some of my books - namely, my fictional works - were just created because I had an idea that I thought was cool or would be a good read, or I had characters that I wanted to create a story for; but some of my work is deeper than that. Yes the fictional stories I create have themes and lessons behind them, but usually my fictional stories are something I write for fun, not necessarily to try and get a specific message across (a lot of times, they're really just because I had such a cool idea or such a cool set of characters that I wanted to write about it). My poems are typically where I put all my deep, meaningful writings. I do not think any topic should be off-limits, so I write a lot of poems that are about serious subjects, or things that society sees as "taboo". I also tend to write poems as a way to get some of my emotions out - I'm human and I have struggles like everyone else, and when I get emotional, I write poems. I use poems as a way to give not just myself a voice, but others as well, which is why I am not afraid to write poems about serious topics - some things need to be talked about rather than shied away from.
I want to help people & make a difference in people's lives, and I'm hoping my writing can achieve that.
