Joining Wattpad in 2013 changed my life. Or perhaps, it facilitated the change I was in the process of making. At the time, I was renewing my interest in writing, a hobby I had picked up and put down many times in my life. What made this time different was my focus on the craft of storytelling and my goal of writing to amusing myself. I'd just gotten to the end of the first novel I ever actually finished and although that book was a mess and would never see the light of day, I was wanting to push new boundaries and actually share my work with a wider audience, than just my close friends and family. For a writer, showing your work to strangers is a difficult step to take because it means opening yourself up to judgement. By luck or fate, I chose Wattpad as the place to make this leap. Here, I found a warm, supportive, and nurturing environment. It's now five years later and I'm proud to be a featured author and member of the Wattpad Stars program. The experience has improved my skills further than I dreamed possible. But my biggest achievement has been the friends I've made along the way.
If you choose to read my work, prepare yourself for some strangeness. I consider myself a writer of weird fiction- that nebulous zone between horror, science-fiction, paranormal, and fantasy. I enjoy being surprised by the things I read, so I try to take my own stories in surprising directions.
The first book I wrote entirely on Wattpad is Mr. 8. It has received over 800k reads to date and has been published. Bad Luck Books is releasing my novella, The Garrison Project, on June 23rd. Both books are available through most online retailers.
