I was born and raised in Hackney, London and contemplated the nature of God from a young age, partly because of the multicultural area of London I grew up in and partly due to my background. I was born to a Muslim father and Christian mother and developed an interest in old nature-based traditions at the age of twelve.

In my early twenties I ran a spiritual themed website before blogs were a thing and I held workshops for women in Kentish Town where we chakra-danced, learned about the power of herbs and made wishes for love and abundance together.

I left England for Syria in 2009 and lived there for a few years. It was the place of my death and rebirth and in the deserts I had my dark night of the soul, but I survived and I published a memoir about my spiritual quest.

I currently hold a degree in Clinical Psychology and a Masters in teaching English language. I am also a qualified Waldorf Steiner school teacher. I teach in a University in London and run a non-profit organisation that aims to empower women in the UK out of poverty by providing a curriculum that is informed by the students themselves.
