I am a self-taught software engineer. I am very good at what I do and I very much enjoy it.

I am currently employed by [The Paciello Group (TPG)](https://www.paciellogroup.com/), a [Vispero™](https://vispero.com/) company. I have been with Vispero since it was a much smaller company called Henter-Joyce. Henter-Joyce became part of Freedom Scientific Inc. in 2000 and then became part of VFO in 2015. VFO changed its name to Vispero in 2018.

During my years working for Vispero, I have had the pleasure of working on products that truly make a difference in people's lives.

Vispero develops a number of assistive technology products for those who are blind, have low vision, or have learning disabilities. I have worked on several of the products developed by Vispero including [JAWS®](http://www.freedomscientific.com/Products/Blindness/JAWS), [JAWS Inspect](https://www.paciellogroup.com/products/jaws-inspect/), [Fusion](https://www.freedomscientific.com/products/software/fusion/), [MAGic®](http://www.freedomscientific.com/Products/LowVision/MAGic), [OpenBook®](http://www.freedomscientific.com/Products/Blindness/OpenBook), and the PAC Mate. Most recently I have worked on JAWS.

I love reading and have ever since I was a small child. I read a number of diverse genres, including fantasy, horror, mystery, science fiction, and suspense. Some of my favorite authors are Anne McCaffrey, Charlaine Harris, Clive Staples Lewis, George R. R. Martin, J. R. R. Tolkien, J.D. Robb, J.K. Rowling, Jim Butcher, Kim Harrison, Mercedes Lackey, Nalini Singh, Orson Scott Card, Robert Jordan, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Terry Brooks, Terry Goodkind, and Terry Pratchett, just to name a few.

I have done some writing. I am currently working on a project I call "The Legend of Beorn." The Legend of Beorn is a series of short stories and books that tell the story of a fantastic, dark hero named Beorn.
