I'm a 30-something yr old gay married man who believes in Jesus. I like to read, write, and play video games. I grew up in a typical conservative christian environment until sexual abuse was brought to the light by family relation in close proximity. This lead to my family moving a lot and my father's alcoholism increasingly became worse. We seldom spoke to my dad's side of the family, but fortunately my mom's side was big and we ended up living next to her mother. My father and I never had a good relationship and we won't get the chance in this life. He passed away in an accident involving alcohol. Writing has been a way, and increasingly so, for me to process some of these seemingly overwhelming thoughts, emotions, and experiences. In sharing, I'm hoping that someone, somewhere, somehow can relate and if they benefit in anyway, who am I to withhold just because I judge it unworthy. I invite you along on this journey with me.
