Doha the only daughter of a prosperous family is gathering herbS by the side of a river when she meets a young man named Ashar. Over the coming weeks they fall in love and he asks her for her hand. He still must get the permission from her father. When men show up at her father's camp she finds out that Ashar is not just a man but the only surviving heir to his father's kingdom. Her father readily agrees to the match but there's a problem. Like most Isonians Doha is a believer in the one God Balor. The kingdom is ruled by the other largest population in the land, the Osthenians who believe in many Gods and GoddesseS. But when Ashar pledges that Doha will be his only wife in exchange for her hand Doha is taken to a lavish court where the Osthenians worship many Gods and Goddesses. In exchange Doha must convert to the Osthenian religion before she is given in marriage to Ashar.
