Evelyn "Lyn" Leise, a 21 year old woman, resides in a secluded, isolated cabin on top a small mountain surrounded by the woods and open fields. Just her, two Saarloose Wolfdogs, and a Rocky Mountain Horse. Being alone with the exception of her animal companions helps her mind stay clear, only wanting a life of simplicity. But she isn't living there solely for the simplicity, Evelyn has a past that is catching up to her quickly. With a somewhat newcomer in town who has drawn his eyes to Evelyn, it is up to her to trust him and let him help or be thrown back in to the fire of her past. 22 year old Xavier Thatcher has been living in Clinton for the past two months before seeing the most beautiful woman he has ever laid eyes on. Not knowing where exactly she went on her gray horse when she leaves town, he starts to ask who the brown-haired person is. Upon learning that she lives in a cabin four miles out, he wants to see what she sees. As he learns bit by bit who she is, the more he wants to help, but she doesn't always reach back.
