Gabriel Bryant is more than aware that spending the summer with his grandparents at their horse ranch is as cliche as it gets. But, since his parents are leaving for a two month anniversary trip, he has no choice. So, he's laid a few ground rules out. Number one: no horseback riding. Under no circumstances will he sit atop one of those four legged beasts. Number two: no friends. He doesn't want to miss anything here. Or anyone He just wants to wallow in his self-pity and play video games. And number three: no dating. Seems easy enough. Get in, get out. No strings attached. Rylie knows this summer is going to suck. Not only is she going to have a load of school work to do before college, but she's also having to babysit the Peterson's grandson. Of course, she can't escape him like a normal ranch hand could. She lives with his grandparents. They are her legal guardians after all. But what if he turns out to be like Connor? What if her past comes out from the shadows she's tried so desperately to keep it in? No. No one knows about that. She will be fine. So, she'll just have to suck it up and ignore her past for two months. Easy enough, right?
