In Book Two we pick up 2 months after the events of Book 1. Carlos has been struggling to readjust to life back on the Isle and he is vastly regretting going this far back in time. After being reinvited back to Auradon, Carlos reconnects with the Fairy Sazana who informs him that things aren't quite the same as it was the first time around and that he's the only one that can fix everything before it completely falls apart. Carlos is determined to put things the way they were and get Ben to fall in love with him all over again, but this time it won't be so easy.  As quickly as it happens, Carlos finds himself losing the memory of the original timeline and forgets what he's supposed to be doing. If he forgets it all, will he be able to fix everything? Carlos is devastated in the isle knowing he DIDN'T steal the wand but his own friends never looked deeper into it and went by the fake "proof" they received by Chad and Mal has to make the painful Decision to send him back to the isle. Carlos is labeled a villain and monster from the people of Auradon, and a backstabber from the VKS and the Villains still on the isle. Carlos finally snapped after years of being tormented by Mal and Jay, pushed around by his mother, and now sent away and having his whole life being ripped from him for something he didn't do because Ben and Mal were incompetent when handling the situation, and follows the path both Audrey and Cassandra went down, and quite literally the same path Cass did because he breaks out of the isle and TAKES the Moonstone before Mal can put it safely in The Isle Can Mal, Evie, Jay, Ben and Fairy Godmother realize their horrible mistake in time and can Cassandra and Audrey try to talk him out of the path he's going knowing they been down that road before, or is Carlos and Auradon a lost cause.
