When his insecurities lead to a summer mistake, he tries to make things right. Betty gave all her love to a boy who drew stars around her scars but, one moment leaves her marked like a bloodstain. When she tries to move on, she keeps being pulled back like there was some invisible string tying him to her. Augustine deals with the aftermath of her summer romance when she realizes she wasn't the one.

James was a simple boy, driving through town at early hours of the morning with Betty, and drinking stale beer at sunset. Everything changes when he makes poor mistakes, and thus begins the Folklore tale, and the full story of their life.

This short story is based on taylor swift's folklore love triangle in her album, "folklore." The three songs, "cardigan," "august," and "betty," are told in the perspective of the main characters, James, Augustine, and Betty. This novella is a take on my interpretation of this love triangle, where, since all the details of this love story are not revealed, it leaves a lot to imagine in a listener's mind.

Inspired by the album Folklore: Inez has never known her biological parents. Six months before her 21st birthday, she decides to start searching for them, but in her journey to uncover the truth she finds out something wishes she could forget...
