Yumi (Kim Go-eun) is an ordinary office worker. The story frequently switches setting between Yumi's real life and inside her mind where 'cells' represent each of her emotions and drives. Her love cells are in state of coma after a failed relationship. The series will trace her growth and change as her brain cells wake up the love cells. Game developer Ku Woong (Ahn Bo-hyun), and her co-workers Ruby (Lee Yu-bi) and Seo Sae-i (Park Ji-hyun), help in their own ways to revive her love cells.

She's always thought she was the problem and has accepted her fate as becoming some type of old mage due to her lack of "REAL dating experience" until she tries online dating through an app "SOUl TIED" made by a few friends.

What happens when you place distance between an inventor and her first love? Inspired by countless heartbreaks and a love for romance dating sims, Yomi creates her own love with a character named Haru. An AI character created in her AI Romance Dating Simulation. Being the first inventor to apply smell and touch to the VR Gaming industry also comes with quality control and legal restrictions. Restrictions in the form of Enzo Gallagher from the VEB (Virtual Experience Board) to test the safety of users in a game that promotes hyper realistic romance with AI characters. However, Enzo's meddling are the least of her problems when her development with the game and Haru is going well...so far. Will Yomi be happy with an artificial love? Or will she continue to seek for more? A love story on loss, yearning, and growth, Yomi will have to decide which ending to finish in the game of love.
