Suddenly, a person runs into David. He's taken by surprise by the impact. The two stumble back a little. That's when David sees who he ran into, someone who he never thought he would see again. Jack Kelly. His first love. It's clear that Jack hasn't forgotten him either. What if ... Jack and David knew each other before the strike? What if they were close friends? What if ... they were lovers? It's not easy for either of them. Come on, who wants to be selling newspapers with their ex? But then the prices rise, and everything changes. And now with the strike, they'll have to reevaluate everything: how they used to be, what went wrong ... and how they feel for each other now. Snow covered streets were her enemy, she could barely see as the snow pelted her numb skin. Get home, was all she could think. Elizabeth had stayed out late, again, to sell the last few papers she had. It was blur, it went by fast. The cold of the snow, the way she looked at the stars like she was pleading for help. When something unexpected happens during the newsboy strike, will Jack and the other newsies be able to fix the situation? How will they react when they find out that helping some of their brothers is going to be harder than they thought? And will Jack and David be able to help when they hit bumps in the road? A quick note: I started this (3/7/18) when i was a sophomore in high school, so my writing isn't at all up to par. Constructive criticism is appreciated! In 1899, the streets of New York city echoed with the voices of newsies. Newsies--kids, teens. Kids who came from everywhere. Kids who didn't fit the gender binary. Kids who didn't love the way they were supposed to. Kids who didn't think the way they were supposed to. Every single one of them defied society's stereotypes against them. This is their story. Sometimes, when they're feeling brave, the newsies will talk about the Refuge. Almost everyone has a story to share, and none of them are very happy. One such night was September 7, 1899, not long after the strike. The evening at the Newsboys' Lodging House started out normally enough, or, in other words: total chaos.

Jack Kelly and his friends are on a vacation in England, visiting historical sites, when Jack touches something he shouldn't and ends up in an alternate version of the world. This world is at war, and Jack Kelly never existed in this world.

It's been over 20 years since the strike. Luna and the rest of her friends have finally found peace. That is, until a fire rips through the suburbs, killing several people close to her. And the fire was no accident. Now, they must all join together to find the one who started to flames.

In 1899, Jack Kelly just wanted to give up. The strike wasn't turning in the newsboys' favor, and he'd almost been caught by Snyder four times in one month. He needed a miracle. Instead, he got an eye-rolling, sarcasm-giving, blonde-haired smart-ass who seemed to have come from nowhere. It's 1969, and 17-year-old Gemma Mullaney's world is spinning out of her control. A former art student now turned peace advocate, Gemma's boyfriend has just been drafted into the war in Vietnam and is said to be missing in action. She is afraid she will lose him like she lost her father the year prior. After a visit to her father's headstone one evening, she feels as though someone is following her home, much to her horror. The next morning, she wakes up to be on her own in New York City, currently having its own inner battles such as trolley worker riots and the newsboys' strike of 1899.

Natalia Falto has been blind her whole life. But that never bothered her. When you live in New York it doesn't take you long to run into the Newsies. So no one was surprised when the group of boys adopted the blind girl into there group and gave her the nickname of "Sights" And then she ran into someone, literally. Just that meeting seemed to change her life.
