Her POV
I'm so frustrated right now. Thinking of many ways on how can I get out and leave this place. Ayoko na dito at hindi pa rin ako makaalis kahit anong gawin ko.
Habang nakatulala ako sa ceiling ay may narinig akong nag-uusap sa dining area at hindi lang boses ni Jethro yun. May tao?!
Agad naman akong napabangon iniisip na baka ito na yung pagkakataon kung makahingi ng tulong kaya dali-dali naman akong lumabas ng kwarto. Halos takbuhin ko na para mabilis akong makaabot sa sala. Pinapanalangin ko talaga na makakahingi na ako ng tulong this time.
Nang makarating ako sa sala ay nadismaya lang ako sa nakita ko. It's Theo, at alam kong malapit siya na kaibigan ni Jethro at sa tingin ko ay hindi njya ako matutulungan makakalabas dito.
Agad ko namang nakuha ang atensyon nilang dalawa. "Oh, there she is." sabi ni Jethro ng makita akong lumabas. Lumapit siya sa akin and he kissed my forehead and he suddenly wrapped his arms around my waist.
"Hi, baby. Good morning." bati niya kaya kaagad naman akong lumayo sa kanya.
"Hi, Vera. Long time no see." and Theo smiled widely. Damn, unbelievable! I've been missing for how many weeks because of his friend and this is how he will react?! He is considering his friend!
I just ignored him, gusto ko na lang bumalik sa kwarto at magmukmok. Kesa sa kausapin siya, kasi wala naman akong mapapala dito eh.
"Oh, you're ignoring me."
"I thought you're nice." at tinignan ko siya ng masama.
He looks confused. "Huh?"
"Akala ko lang pala. Kasi if you were nice. You will tell the police where I am right now." and smiled bitterly.
"Hey, baby. Stop." at hinawakan ni Jethro ang kamay ko. Kaya agad ko namang iwinakli iyon.
"No, I will not! Magkaibigan nga kayong dalawa. You're both crazy!"
"Baby." at tinignan ni Jethro si Theo.
"It's fine. Uhm, can I have a beer first?" he asked.
Tsk, what the hell.
"It's early in the morning Theo, seriously?" sabi ni Jethro.
"Come on, man. I haven't drink for a long time. Lanny won't let me." and he laughed.
"You know that I don't have beer here, Theo." and Jethro chuckle.
"Oh, is that so? Alright, I'll just buy outside then." and he was about to stand up but Jethro stopped him.
"No... since you're my guest I will be the one who will buy it, alright?"
"No. Ako nalang ang bibili sa baba." insist pa ni Theo.
"No, it's fine. Ako na bisita kita."
"Alright, man." at ngumiti si Theo.
Tinignan naman ako ni Jethro at ginawaran agad ng halik sa noo. Yes, I can still feel it. Nararamdaman ko paring mahal ko pa rin siya, mahal na mahal. Hindi naman kasi ganun kadali na kalimutan siya lalo na't he's trying to make it up for me these days. Pero gusto ko lang ma angkin ang kalayaan ko.
"I'm going to buy beer for Theo, baby. Be a good girl while I'm away, okay?" he said but I didn't answer him.
"Hey, Theo. Take good care of my baby too. Don't let her do things that I won't like." and I heard him chuckled.
"Of course." Theo answered and Jethro leave the room.
So, kami na lang ni Theo ang natitira dito.
There is no need to stay here. Kasi kung susubukan ko namang tumakas ay pipigilan niya lang din naman ako. I was about to leave but he stopped me.
"Where are you going?" he asked.
"Leaving, obviously." at tinitignan ko pa rin siya ng masama.
"But I have something to tell you before Jethro comes back."
"I'm not interested." and I rolled my eyes.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah." at tatalikuran ko na sana siya pero may sinabi siya na nakapagtigil sa akin.
"Even if it is about your freedom?" that makes me stay.
"What do you mean?" at parang kaagad naman akong nabuhayan sa sinabi niyang iyon.
He sighed, "Tito Hernan, told me to come here."
Really si Tito? At bakit naman?
"Bakit daw?"
May kinuha siya sa bulsa. It's a phone.
"Here." And he gave it to me.
"What am I going to do with this?" I asked him but I know that it can help me to call Papa and ask for help.
"Tito Hernan is willing to help you."
"What do you mean?"
"He said that you can have this phone, and call your Father to help you. Kasi akala niya naiuwi kana nga ni Jethro pero hindi pa rin pala." I should thank tito Hernan for this.
"Really??" I'm so happy! Finally, someone is helping me!
"Yes, I made him leave because it was a part of our plan. Kasi kapag nandito iyon ay hindi ko 'to mabibigay sayo" at nginitian niya ako.
"Why are you helping me too?" kasi alam kong malapit siya na kaibigan ni Jethro. At sa tingin ko ay baka mag-away sila dahil dito.
"I know that Jethro loves you so much, but I saw how your Father trying so hard just to find you, Vera and I can't take it also that's why I wanna help you."
"But you know that you're going to have fight with Jethro, after this right?"
"I know that... but Tito Hernan is with me. So call your father now, Vera and ask for his help."
Hindi ko alam kung saan ko paglalagyan ang saya ko ngayon. Nabuhayan ako ng loob! This is it. I can finally get out of here.
"Can I call my Papa now?!" masayang tanong ko
"Sure, you can Vera. But..."
"But what?"
"If you are going to call your father, you'll know what will going to happen to Jethro, right? He's going to jail, probably. So, before you call your father make a wise decision Vera." at nginitian niya ako.
Parang nawala naman bigla ang ngiti sa mga labi ko. He's right.
Damn it! Bakit ba biglang nagulo ang isip ko?! I know that my father would never forgive Jethro after this. Kahit naman ako, kung tinupad niya lang sana yung mga pangako niya ay hindi na sana ganito.
"Think faster Vera, because Jethro will comeback in any minute now." he said while looking on his watch. Damn it! Mas lalo akong nalilito. Pero hindi dapat! This is the thing that I've been waiting for, right?
Yeah! I should call my father.
Dali dali kung binuksan ang cellphone at agad kung i-dinial ang number ni papa. Nanginginig na ang kamay ko habang naghihintay na sumagot siya.
[Hello?] he finally answered on the other line kaya bigla namang pumatak ang luha ko. Kasi sa tinagaltagal narinig ko na rin ulit ang boses ng Papa ko. I missed him so much.
"P-pa..." my voice cracked.
[Vera a-anak ikaw ba yan?] narinig kung bigla na rin siyang napasinghot.
"Opo, pa ako 'to. P-please help me. Please pa."
[Sabihin mo lang anak k-kung na saan ka at p-pupuntahan ka kaagad ni papa. Just tell me where you at.] I'm literally shaking pero magaan na rin yung pakiramdam ko This is it. Finally, makakawala na rin ako dito.
"Pa, it's Jethro, he kidnapped me. Pa, please help me. Bilisan niyo po papa." at nanginig na nga ang boses ko. Natatakot kasi ako baka mahuli kami ni Jethro.
[Calm down, a-anak. Calm down, huwag kang mag-aalala. Itratrack ko yung location mo. Pupuntahan ka kaagad ni Papa diyan anak. Wait for me, Vera ililigtas ka ni papa.] he said on the other line. I was about to answer him when Theo grabbed the phone and end it.
"Hey! Please, gusto ko pang makausap si Papa, Theo. Please." sabi ko at pinunasan ko na ang mga luha ko.
"You're running out of time. I'm sure na pabalik na yun dito. You should wipe your tears, before he will suspect us. Don't worry, I will leave the phone here so they can track you, alright? Stop crying." at pinunasan nya ang mga luha ko.
"I'm sorry about what I said earlier, Theo."
"It's fine, Vera. I understand."
"Thank you so much, Theo." at niyakap ko siya.
"Walang anuman, Vera." sabi niya at agad naman akong kumawala. "You'll finally be free, Vera."
Yes, I will and I can't wait for it but I know that I am going to leave Jethro but it is the right thing to do right?
