"And then out of nowhere I see a phone flying toward-"
"Mummy" you hear a soft knock on your door. You look at Harry through your phone screen and he nods before you set your phone down.
"Coming" you crawl out of the large bed that Harry was normally in with you. You open the door to reveal your daughter clutching the bear Harry gave her, with a red blotchy face and tear stained cheeks.
"What's up baby?" You lift her to your hip.
"I miss daddy. I want him to sing." she whimpers through her teary eyes. You wipe a tear from her cheek as you bring her over to the bed.
"I do too. I can't bring daddy back right now but we can talk to him" you sit the 3 year old next to you against the headboard. You grab your phone and hand it to her.
"Hi baby!" Harrys face lights up.
"Daddy!" She cheers, a smile peeking through her sadness. She crawls into your lap, leaning her back into your stomach. Harry asks her all about her day, and what's she been doing in school and he tells her everything he's been doing on tour. A few times Mitch pokes his head in to make her laugh. You sit on the phone with him for about an hour, entertaining her. You start to notice her dozing off.
"You wanna go to bed?" You nudge her lightly. She begins to quiver her lip as tears brim her eyes again at the thought of having to leave Harry.
"Baby I'll sing to you" Harry offers.
"We can take my phone in your room so it's like me and daddy tucking you in?" You add. She nods her head, accepting. You stand out of bed and lift her up as she's clutching your phone in her small hands. You lay her in her bed.
"Good night" you kiss her head.
"Night mummy" she says, eager to have Harry sing her to sleep. You turn off her light and close her door halfway. You hear Harry start to sing softly. After about 10 minutes you hear her soft snores. You enter her room, grabbing your phone from her hands.
"Thank you Harry" you renter your room "she's been having trouble falling asleep"
"I love singing to her. I miss it. It's not the same feeling as being on stage." He says softly.
"What time is it for you?" You ask.
"6 pm" he checks a clock "I go on at 8"
You nod "do great".
"Want me to sing you to sleep too" he suggests. You laugh at his seemingly silly offer. "Yeah" you snuggle yourself into the big empty bed and turn off the lamp. "I miss you" you tell him, trying to hold back tears.
"Hey hey" he coos, hearing the pain in your voice "I miss you. I wanna be in bed with you right now and I want to hug you. But as soon as you know it I'll be home" he tries to calm you.
"Yeah. It's just hard" you tell him.
"What song?" He changes the subject. You tell him your favorite song and he begins to sing it as you drift off to sleep.
Happy holidays. I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy. Also I watched Louis' online concert; he did soooo good. Omg I'm so proud of him. Also he kept looking up...🧐🤔
