Katara and I were with the Council of Five, reviewing the invasion plan.
"General Fong's base will serve as the launching point for the attack. In exactly two months, the army and navy will invade the Fire Nation on The Day of Black Sun."
Momo suddenly darts across the board, knocking the pillars over.
"Or we could send in Momo to do some damage," Katara laughs.
I shut my eyes tightly in embarrassment.
"Cause the...sorry."
The General continues. "All we need is the Earth King's seal in order to execute the plan."
"I'll get these scrolls to him right away," Katara says grabbing my hand.
"Thank you, General How." I bow before exiting.
"So, Soul," Katara says. "We haven't had alone time in a while, just us girls, how are you doing?"
"Oh, ha ha, I'm great." I cough.
"Oh, are you still sick?"
"No, no, I'm fine." I nervously laugh.
"I know why you're acting so weird." Katara says.
"Acting weird? Acting weird?" I panic.
"I know." She smirks.
"You know what?!" I say grabbing Katara's shoulders and shaking her. "I'm sorry." I cry.
"Soul, are you okay? Why are you crying?"
"It's just that..."
"I was just gonna say I know you're dating Sokka, no need to cry."
"What? Oh yeah, haha," I sigh in relief. "We're not dating."
"But I saw you guys kiss," Katara teases.
"And I saw you kiss Aang," I tease back.
She playfully rolls her eyes. "That doesn't mean anything, it was just a kiss on the cheek. Aang's like a little brother to me."
"Mhmmm."
"Hey, look," Katara says changing the subject.
"How about a cup of tea before we get back to the King?"
I look at the tea shop. "Mhm sure." I respond.
"Table for three, please."
"Uncle, I need two jasmine, one green and one lychee." We hear a familiar voice say.
Katara turns around seeing that the voice belonged to Zuko. She quickly grabs my hand and bolts out the tea shop.
Once we arrived at the palace Katara started panting.
"Thank goodness you're here, Suki. Something terrible is going on. The Fire Nation has infiltrated the city. I just saw Prince Zuko and his Uncle!"
Suki's eyes widened.
"We have to tell the Earth King right away!" Katara says.
"Oh, don't worry. I'll be sure to let him know."
Katara then realizes that the warrior was not Suki, but Azula. Before she could react, Ty Lee swung at her, chi blocking her.
"Hey pretty." Ty Lee calls out at me.
"Hi gorgeous." I respond.
"Lights out." Was the last thing I heard before she snuck up behind me, chi blocking me, causing me to pass out.
Katara and I were thrown into the crystal-lit cave.
This is all my fault. If only I had told the gaang about Zuko being in the city, we wouldn't be in this situation.
I sit on the ground hugging my knees when suddenly a light shines down from above.
The entrance opens and Zuko is thrown into the cave.
"Zuko!" Katara gasps.
Oh, just my luck.
"Why did they throw you in here? Oh, wait. Let me guess it's a trap, so that when Aang shows up to help Soul and I, you can finally have him in your little fire nation clutches."
"You're a terrible person, you know that? Always following us, hunting the Avatar, trying to capture the world's last hope for peace! But why do you care? You're the Fire Lord's son. Spreading war and violence and hatred is in your blood."
"You don't know what you're talking about," Zuko defends himself.
"I don't? How dare you! You have no idea what this war has put me through. Me, personally. The fire nation took my mother away from me."
"I'm sorry." Zuko says.
Katara continues to sob.
"That's something we have in common."
Yay! The no mom club I think to myself.
Katara stops sobbing, wiping her tears.
"I'm sorry I yelled at you before," Katara apologizes.
"It doesn't matter."
"It's just that for so long now, whenever I would imagine the face of the enemy, it was your face."
"My face," Zuko says touching his scar. "I see."
"No, no, that's not what she meant," I say walking over to Zuko and touching his scar.
"It's okay," he responds. "I used to think this scar marked me. The mark of the banished Prince, cursed to chase the Avatar forever. But lately, I've realized I'm free to determine my own destiny, even if I'll never be free of my mark."
"Maybe you could be free of it," Katara says.
"What?" Zuko responds.
"I have healing abilities."
"It's a scar," I say. "It can't be healed." And personally I think he looks extra badass with it.
Katara glares at Zuko and I.
"What's going on with you two?" Katara asks.
"What?" I jump, letting go of Zuko's cheek. "What do you mean?"
"The way he's looking at you Soul, what did you do?" Katara asks.
Zuko and I both looked at each other, waiting for the other to speak.
"Zuko and I..we..we hooked up."
Katara's mouth drops. "You what? Soul how could you? Sokka?"
"No, Katara, this was before Sokka and I kissed. I was just having a rough day, and Zuko was just there." Ouch
"How long ago was this?" Katara asks.
"A couple days."
"A couple days ago!" She gasps. "You knew Zuko was in the city and you didn't tell us."
"I'm sorry." I say as tears slipped down my cheeks.
"Why aren't you yelling at me?" I ask. "I thought you'd be more upset."
"I'm not angry with you Soul, I'm disappointed."
"Please don't tell Sokka, I want to tell him myself."
"I won't, your secrets safe with me."
"Thank you, thank you." I say hugging Katara.
"I know, it was a mistake," Katara whispers in my ear while stroking my hair as I sob onto her shoulder.
We hear the rocks shatter as Katara and I pull apart.
"Aang!" Katara gasps as she yanks my arm dragging us over to Aang, hugging him. I just realized Katara's always dragging Soul around smh.
"Aang, I knew you would come," Katara cried out.
"Uncle, I don't understand. What are you doing with the Avatar?" Zuko asks.
"Saving you. That's what." Aang responds.
Zuko tries to hurl towards Aang but Iroh holds him back. "Zuko, it's time we talked."
"Go help your other friends. We'll catch up with you." Iroh says.
As Katara and Aang start to run off, I hopelessly glance one last time at Zuko, before rushing off with Katara and Aang.
"We've gotta find Sokka and Toph." I yell.
Azula catches up to us, as she throws a bolt of fire at us.
A battle ensures between, Aang, Katara, Azula, and I
when an orange flame stopped our fight.
We turn around to see Zuko. A brief moment of dramatic tension happens but is quickly over once Zuko begins to fight on Azula's side, to everyone's amazement.
"You're a firebender," Azula cries out. "A Princess. What are you doing with these foolish peasants."
"Saving the world, that's what."I form a huge whip almost slicing Azula in the face, Zuko kicks a flame in between my violet one, causing mine to die out.
Azula runs off to Aang as Katara and I fight off Zuko.
"I'm starting to get a little upset I lost my virginity to him."
"You think?" Katara says as her and Zuko begin to fight.
Azula joins in on the fight, making Katara and I fly into the crystals, me hitting much harder than Katara.
Third Person P.O.V
"Soul, get up!" Katara cries. She forms an octopus stand defending both her and Soul from the Dai Li, who had just arrived.
Aang glances over at Soul and Katara. seeing that they were outnumbered by the numerous amount of Dai Li agents including Zuko and Azula.
"I'm sorry, Katara." Was the last thing Aang said before, creating a crystal shelter, mediating, trying to release his attachment to Katara in order to enter the Avatar state.
Soul wakes up, seconds before Aang rose up from his mediation in the Avatar state.
Soul looks over at Azula, noticing her about to make a move.
"No!" Soul screams before releasing fire from her mouth, but she was too late. Azula had already struck Aang with her lighting.
Katara quickly creates a huge wave of water, managing to scatter The Dai Li, Zuko, and Azula, before catching Aang before he hits the ground.
Katara holds Aang's lifeless body as the siblings approach her.
Soul quickly gets up from the ground sending a blue ray of flames at the siblings causing them to wince.
"You've got to get out of here!" Soul yells.
Soul starts to get lightheaded. She touches the back of her head, now noticing the blood streaming out of it.
"Noooo!" Katara cries. "We have to go, please."
"I'll hold them off as long as I can!"
"Sou-"
"Go!" Soul screams sending a stream of fire at Katara.
Katara quickly runs off, waterbending herself and Aang out the cave.
Katara manages to escape the cave, finding the rest of the group.
"Where's Soul?" Sokka asks.
"She-"
"Don't tell me you left her in there!" Sokka yells at his sister.
"She told me..I had no choi-"
"No! How could you?" Sokka yells. "I'm going in there."
"No, you're not," Toph says.
"And why not?"
"Because she's coming." Toph responds.
On cue Soul climbs out the cave. Before she walks over to Appa, she collapses.
Sokka quickly jumps down from Appa, helping Soul onto Appa, as he holds her tight to him.
Katara heals Soul's bleeding head. "She'll be awake in a couple minutes." Katara tells her brother before crawling over to Aang and using her spirit water to heal his wounds.
Aang groans. Katara gasps hugging Aang.
