"We secretly believe that if only we achieve some elusive goal - fitting into a pair of skinny jeans, or redoing our kitchen or getting that promotion - that it will make us happy. But the pain of our insecurity is hidden in all that racing around." - Dani Shapiro

Professional drag racer, Lauren Jauregui, reads this quote before every race. Something about it makes her fearless. So when she races, she races with a certain passion not many people have. At just the age of twenty-three, she conquers the drag racing world, both raceway and street way. She conquers the race with her tiger-like green eyes and dark mane of hair.

"Ready to race?" A voice behind Lauren asked. Lauren's manager, Nathan, a dark blue eyed and light blonde hair thirty year old man, announced to her rather than asked. He was an attractive man, he wasn't exactly the nicest man but that's what made him and Lauren the best team. Neither of them are very nice but they're both very attractive and very talented. Having a manager who's wanted by all types of celebrities but says he'll only be with Lauren Jauregui is quite an accomplishment. Though both of them are very attractive, they have no more than five or six close business partners and friends. They're both tough, Lauren would never date such a controlling man and Nathan would never date such a young and innocent girl.

"I was born ready," Lauren replied with a smirk then put her helmet on and followed an entourage of her pit crew and made her way to the Pomona, California race track. Once her name was announced and the crowd roared at the sight of her, she gave a small wave. She didn't care that the roar of the crowd had been the loudest when she came out, it all sounded the same to her. She didn't care that she was ranked the fifth sexiest woman alive earlier in the year or that she dated a douchebag who's the biggest celebrity in the world or that she's one of the richest racers in the world. All she cares about is racing because it's the last thing left that she still loves. As the National Anthem finished playing, she prayed a quick Hail Mary then took a deep breath and got into her winning driving machine. Just sing the same song over and over again, she told herself in order to calm herself while racing. She was neither nervous nor scared. In fact, she was the exact opposite of nervous and scared. She was fearless and ready... a bit too fearless and ready. She was overconfident and she hated it, maybe she wouldn't be so confident if she had not won every single race she's raced in her life. She's good at what she loves to do, there's seventy year olds who are still looking to be good at something they love. She's a lucky one.

When Lauren was just six years old, she said she wanted to be a racer. She had a little kiddie race car that she would sometimes "accidentally" run over her younger brother, Chris, with. Her excuse for doing such a cruel thing was simple, he was in the way and wouldn't move when asked to. So like the badass she was, she'd have her six year old self drive over her four year old brother. People wonder where her tough attitude comes from but she's always had it. When she was ten, she had turned into a book worm. She was very intelligent for her age and loved reading a good book. At the age of fifteen, she had developed into a goddess. With a fierce yet humble attitude and a gorgeous figure, all of the guys had fallen for her. But she was a badass, an honest one who said 'no' whenever she felt the need to and she was not afraid to speak her mind. She left many people in the dust, literally. She had started drag racing and quickly became one of the top competitors. With a unique talent for a gorgeous and intelligent girl, she quickly became famous. She hated all the fame; she was just doing what she loved to do. She accepted all the sponsorship deals because she needed the money for her college tuition, it was pretty much a free ride for her.

Now at the age of 23, she has quickly and easily become the biggest female drag racer in the world. She's fast and furious. Instead of driving over her little brother, she passes all the other competitors. Chris learned not to mess with his older sister a long time ago. He got a pretty bad scar on his left arm from trying to resist his sister's insane driving when he was six years old. The Jauregui parents always loved their children very much but they couldn't have been any happier knowing that their son and youngest daughter swore they'd never want to be drag racers like their older sister.

Lauren is a wild one but also manages to keep her intelligence. In high school, she attended an all girls Catholic school on an academic scholarship. In the classroom, she was a genius and outside of the classroom she was the best friend any girl could ask for. In the spring, she was a softball standout for her school's team. Outside of school, she was a huge partier. She lived in Miami, the city's name itself just says party all over it. She was the kind of girl who would drink loads of alcohol on a Saturday night but not drink the wine at church the following morning. She was one of the hottest girls in the city and had hot friends. Whenever she had free time in between her studies, soft-balling, and partying, she'd be racing. Her teenage years were perfect.

Once she got to college, her love for softball faltered but her intelligence and racing strengthened. She started to drag race on the streets. Her father let her bring her nice expensive car to college and that's when she became the queen of illegal drag racing. She was always a tough girl but after a tragic event, a small part of her mental toughness faltered.

Camila Cabello's aim could win more championships than Lauren has won in her entire racing career. That's not exactly a good thing. Good things come with a price and Camila's spectacular yet stealth fighting comes with a death sentence. Maybe if she didn't work as a contracted killer for one of the biggest drug businesses in the world, she wouldn't be wanted to be dead. She's got looks that could kill and catch all the people she kills off guard. It's a good distraction... was, back when she was new in the business thus making her job easier. No one ever expected such a pretty girl to kill them with one shot. Unfortunately for her, everyone figured out who she was and who she worked for. Everything just got crazier.

Now more than ever, she's being hunted down by everyone. She fears for her life every single second and is constantly on the run. With the government and her rival drug business after her, all she can do is run. It's gotten to a point where she doesn't know where to run, she's going nowhere with the fear of death at the tip of her fingers. She just gets more and more unluckier everyday.

On another note, luck was on Lauren's side again. Well, more like skill was on her side again. She swept all of her races and won the NHRA championship for Super Street for the fifth year in a row. She loved winning, she loved how her skills had been tested and had excelled. The money and trophies were nice bonuses but she really didn't give a fuck about the extra shit that came with winning and being famous. She races to race, not to get rich, it's like people get those two r-words mixed up and think she's a shiny piece of fame on a pedestal.

"I don't wanna go to this party," Lauren demanded as she smoked a cigarette. She was still in her racing gear and had no intentions of changing. Nathan had been trying to get Lauren to go to a victory party for the last thirty minutes but he was unsuccessful. He didn't blame her, he wouldn't want to go if he was her either.

"Fine. Here's the deal, you can stay in that stupid outfit and go out and do whatever type of racing shit you want to do. Just make sure you're undercover and don't get caught by the cops. Take your suitcase and phone and go drive that nice ass car of yours. I'm getting on a plane tonight and going back home to New York. This is a one time thing since you won and don't have anything planned for five months. So in case you do get arrested, you have a few months to clean up your shit. Also don't fall in love with someone, that'd a big distraction to your racing. Now just be safe and stay out of trouble or you're getting your ass kicked," Nathan said. He hated how he was letting Lauren do this but she was a pretty good girl, she deserved it.

"Yes! Thank you Nathan! I promise I won't get in trouble or do anything too illegal and I won't fall in love!" Lauren said as her eyes lit up then she hugged Nathan tightly and kept promising him that she would be good. As she put her cigarette out then put her helmet on and rolled her suitcase, she was quite a sight. With her high heels and racing gear on, she looked like a comical character but she didn't care, she never cared about anything or anyone actually. All she cared about at this moment was going to her brand new car in the parking garage and driving to the nearest bar. What she didn't know was that the biggest race of her life was about to begin right around the corner.

BANG!

Lauren heard a loud noise but didn't bother to be scared. It's just a car's muffler, she thought to herself.

BANG!

She still didn't stop, even though this noise had a slightly different bang to it.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Wow, that car really needs a maintenance check, she thought to herself as she continued to walk. What finally made her stop walking were loud screams and more of the banging noise. The banging noise became more consistent and more frequent and that's when she figured out they were gun shots.

That's definitely not a muffler, she thought to herself.

She's a tough lady so she continued to walk. She was getting closer to the gun shots but she didn't care. When she approached the source of the commotion and loud noise, she saw more than just one gun and soon made out three different girls shooting at each other. In fact, they looked her age and all reminded her of herself; they all appeared to be confident and very attractive.

"STAY OUT OF THE WAY!" One voice screamed at her so she did. She was willing to walk right in the middle of the fighting to get to her car but she decided to obey the command for once. Instead of walking right in the middle of it, she watched intently. Most people would be scared as shit but she just watched un-phased by the fact that three girls were trying to kill each other in front of her.

Camila was fighting for her life. Well, the other two girls were too but knew the two girls came after her to kill her but she also knew that it was all women for themselves. She knew that one was from the government and the other from her rival drug business. What she didn't know was which one was from which but she didn't bother to find out. She knew she'd kill them both very soon. She spotted someone nearly coming into the little war zone but she warned the person to not get in the way. She also knew she'd only need two or three minutes to finish off her opponents. Ten more shots and I'll be done with them, she promised to herself.

BANG!

One down, one to go, she thought to herself. It had taken her ten shots just to kill one of them. The other two girls had been fist fighting each other while shooting at Camila but she knew better and stayed a good distance away. It made her job easier and she didn't have to aim at two completely different places.

BANG!

It had taken her twenty-one shots to kill the two other girls instead of the ten that she promised but there was no time for her to worry about breaking her own promise.

"Hey! Person, drive me now or I'll kill you along with those two girls," Camila said, motioning to the people she had just killed. Lauren shook her head and confidently walked to her car while Camila followed. For the first time ever, Lauren was speechless. She wasn't scared, she was just surprised that the very attractive girl in front of her had killed the other two in a matter of five minutes.

"Quickly! We need to go fast!" Camila demanded as she scouted out the rest of the parking garage to make sure another person with a gun wasn't waiting for her. Lauren quickly unlocked her car then the two got into her car and drove off. She knew what fast was and she knew that fast meant breaking the law but she didn't care. She had watched the girl sitting next to her be just as confident as herself and thought she ought to save her.

It's funny how promises can be broken so quickly these days.
